Anne Hathaway to Become Jane Austen
Source: Empire Online
November 10, 2005

The Princess Diaries and Brokeback Mountain star Anne Hathaway has revealed to Empire Online that she is set to play author Jane Austen in Becoming Jane. Austen is the author of many books that have been turned into films, such as "Persuasion," "Emma," "Mansfield Park," "Pride and Prejudice" and "Sense and Sensibility".

"I know, I can't believe it's an American either," Hathaway said. "I can do the accent, they wouldn't have hired me if I couldn't. I'm attached to it and we're trying to get financing for it. Jane Austen is one of the most special literary figures. I don't want to short change her in any way."

The film is written by Kevin Hood and will take a portion of Austen's life that reflects the wild romanticism of her novels.

Just this week, Keira Knightley's version of Pride & Prejudice opens in theaters.

What?
Ah crap. Can they possibly make this snooze fest last for four hours? At least a good porno is devided into 15-minute segments. That correlates directly to my attention span.

No wonder Vivid is making more money than Empire.

Ummmmm so okay I thought this movie was really cute :D

Anne Hathaway is really growing on me as an actress - didnt realize she was in this movie, or that this movie was even out. I love Jane Austen and her books so this should have been a must-see for me. Now that I finally saw it, I'll probably add it to the old chick flick collection.
