Dang it! Not an earth-shattering loss in the least, but we're stuck with, like, ZERO ILB depth.

No love for Ali Highsmith?

I was hoping Beisel would come back as well, but I personally think this opens the door to bring in a ILB in the later rounds of the draft.

I was thinking the Cardinals might go with two OLB choices in the draft, and now with Haggans being signed it would make sense to go OLB early and ILB late.

Beisel was playing 4th quarter minutes late in the season, including the playoffs.

Sintim can play both.

Anybody know anything about the kid from TCU, Phillips? He may be able to be got in like round 4.

I like Highsmith, hopefully he is fully recovered from his injury and is a full time participant in Lott's offseason conditioning program. I think its premature to count on him though (by the same token its premature to write him off).

Haggans and Hobson can play on the inside, as well. I would have liked to have kept Beisel, but if it was down to him or Haggans, I think the FO made the right choice.

Maybe it is folly to depend on an undrafted free agent coming off a knee injury but I am somewhat excited to see what Highsmith can do.

I will say this. From day one he was our best ST'er in terms of coverage. The minute he went down our entire unit went to ish....

I agree. The guy is simply a football player. Hopefully his injury doesn't slow him up too much.

Haley and Pioli are building something in KC and quite possibly make the playoffs this year. I know people will laugh, but watch. Watch what happens after they add Crabtree in the draft. Cassell, Crabtree, B Ingram and Bowe!!! WOW!!! Sound familiar? They are going to be fun to watch next season.

Not happy to see Beisel go...he was extremely consistent and knew the system. Not a guy who would make game changing plays, but rarely screwed up.

I am not sure that even if that combination lives up to its full potential that it can make up for how awful their defense is going to be.

Cassell can either become Tom Brady or Jeff Blake next season. I'm still not sold on him as an elite QB in this league, but they will be interesting to watch this season.

The other thing holding them back is the fact that they've done little or nothing to address that turnstyle offensive line

Yeah, I think people are completely discounting how awful that pass rush was...TEN sacks in 16 games..T E N! I can't remember anything even close to being that bad even on some of the worst Cardinal teams of all time. Thats a lot to overcome, if they even double that they would still be only better than 2 teams last season. They also gave up the second most yards per game in the league. This is going to be a project thats going to take more than 1 offseason.
