I am sick of watching Cintron play. I used to think he was the future at short but after watching him this year, he is definitely not the future. His fielding and hitting are below average. Give Green a shot at short. He can't do any worse.

Also, I really like what I see in Terrero so far. If he can keep this up for the rest of the year I would not try and sign Finley in the offseason.

Get used to Cintron as he'll be at SS until Santos or Drew is ready. When either of them is adequate I want him out of there as well. On the bright side, he's sure as hell better than Timmy Olsen. Terrero should become a solid player, but like Cintron, he's going to need patience and good coaching, two things spoiled DBack fans don't have.

I disagree. Cintron is not guaranteed a starting job next year.

our future is santos/drew at third and short... I think cintron is just a stopgap for one of them.

hes definatly struggled bad this year, he comes across to me as giving away a lot of at bats. and mental lapses in the field.

I have been singing the Cintron sucks song for like 2 years....

D'backs management is clueless.... don't they see how bad he is? If I went back and counted the games he lost this team by his fielding errors alone I would gather the number would be 5-8 games

I didn't mean he was guaranteed a starting job, I just don't know if Jerry Gil is going to be able to beat him out considering how bad his plate discipline is. Drew is our best option. He should be ready by September 2006 so I'm guessing we'll have to wait out Cintron's mediocrity until then. This is all based upon us signing Drew, which I'm sure is going to be a pain in the ass.

I heard a Cintron quote, not long ago - he said he was a "good bad ball hitter".

I don't know where he ever got that, but there is no such animal. Some, like Yogi, were better at connecting with the 'bad ball' than others, but Cintron isn't even close.

Give it until the end of the season - Cintron and his buddy Pedrique will be out the door.

And I will be glad.

You really think so? Drew/Santos are not ready yet. Who is gonna be our shopstop next year if cintron leaves?

Ya know i think he may be right. Cintron is a "good bad-ball hitter" and "bad" at hitting "good-balls".

Ive seen him make contact with pitches too low, high, dirt or in his shirt, but NEVER once do you see him make contact with a pitch over the plate.

BAH!

I never said the team would have to rely on its farm system - this year's reliance has been a disaster. There could be a whole pool of talent available, come the off-season.

Anyone catch D. Willis walking Terrero last night. Cintron hits the very next pitch and dribbles one to third.

Yeah and we'd draw out out of that pool of talent with what money? DBacks fans clamor for them to re-sign Finley, Sexson, etc. but don't realize that those guys with RJ and Gonzo are going to cost us at least 75% of our projected cap. We'll probably see some FA acquisitions, but expect them to be bargain deals like the ones Reynolds, Mayne, and Alomar got. We're going to have to catch lightning in a bottle to acquire a solid SS through free agency with our financial situation. J.D. Drew was in the bigs a year and a half after he was drafted, let's hope his brother has the same learning curve.
