WHATS UP ARIZONA!

I see you guys layed the 49winers ass down.Nice hard fought win for the Cardinals. You guys mirror us in the fact that losing for so long nobody repects our teams.I feel a little turn-around in the NFL is coming for Cardinal and Bengal fans.

We were hoping the bengals would not take the CARDS to litely. With wins over S.F. and G.B. that doesnt accidently happen.

I like to ask the cardinal faithfull a question.
Back in the 90s when BOOMER was your QB and took you guys on a winning streak to make the playoffs or almost get there.I recall you had a good team and BOOMER got benched or something.what exactly happened with that....I may be wrong but thats what i recall.

Heres to a good injury free game sunday

Bengals

We've had a few good teams br....in fact before the Bengals existed I was a Cards fan......when I moved to Cincy I had to become a Bengals fan as well....but I couldn't diss or get rid of the team that I always rooted for.

Yeah we've had some good teams...and some some good players....thanks for the injury free wish....I think we have lots common.....great fans and crappy ownership.

Cheers to the injury free game! I've always pulled for the Bengals if they aren't playing the Jets or the Cardinals.

I think on paper the Bengals have a deeper team, but I don't think that will matter on Sunday. I have a feeling that one team will find a way to lose- one or two bad decisions will sink one of these ships. It should be a fun game to watch.

Welcome Bengal Fan

Personally, before the season I did not think the Bengals had a bad team. Yeah, they lost Spikes and now have to put up with the Dillon crap but you guys finally have a good coach and it shows. I don't remember what happened to Boomer but people say he is always picking on the Cards since then but I have also heard him say very good things about the team when others wouldn't. Truthfully, I can't stand Chris Collinsworth and Dan Deirdorf has said more negative things about the Cardinals than any other player from any other team has ever said and he is a hall-of-fame Card.

I still think the Chargers in the end will be the worst team and this goes past the Boston move. Trust me, I see the same unintelligent and uniformed observations of the Bengals as the Cards.

Welcome, Bengalsrule. You've got an improving team and a good young coach. Hope you lose Sunday but win all the rest.

I've got Chad Johnson in a bunch of my fantasy teams. What a goiod young WR!

The Cards and Bengals are the NFL doormats. We suffer together. Hopefully, we'll meet in the Super Bowl some day.

Hey, new here.

I'd start Kitna, as you guys will use Shipp more than we will use either Dillon or Johnson.

Welcome guys!

I hope to see a close, slugfest of a game. Two teams pounding away at each other. That gives us the best possible chance to win. :D

Some say

Boomer was benched because he was getting close to makling an incentive clause that would have paid him alot more money. That is rumor though. Some other Cardinal historians here might better serve you with facts.

Well, that is certainly what Boomer believed. And, he WAS benched the last game of two of that year for Kent Graham. It's ironic to look back on that because the line from Tobin was that Graham was the QB of the future, and we had to see what we had in him. I posted about this a couple of weeks ago. McGinnis was here at that time. And, he saw Boomer pout, walk out on the team, come back and then quit. I really think that episode has stayed with him when it comes to handling his QB's. It certainly looks that way. We've begged to see Greisen and McCown play in the last couple months of the last few seasons and Mac just won't do it.

Boomer had a very bad start to that year. Then, he did have a phenomenal run to win three straight and get us to 6-6. One of those games was his 500yd+ passing day to beat the Skins in OT. The next week, he had another huge day and threw a last second TD to beat the Eagles. Two of the more exciting games back-to-back that I've ever seen. Then, we went to Minnesota and he played horrible and we got beat bad. Then, we played Dallas and he had another bad game. We lost 7-3 and were eliminated from the playoffs. That's when he was benched.

Wasn't he

close to yardage or starts and it came with more cash? I'm not sure. I can't ever get past the basics of a contract anyway.

Whatever it was, I think it was being in on a certain % of offensive plays, he certainly would've gotten it.

Wow, thanks for that thought. That may indeed have some influence now on Mac's unwillingness to play a younger QB despite the record last year.

I wasn't a ticket holder then, but we did go to the Eagle game -- and I'll never forget it. The Cards were down by 2 scores, with (I think) a little over 2 minutes left. The report was Boomer looked at the clock, and said, "No problem."

It wasn't either -- heckuva finish.

Bengal dudes, I think you have a good coach there. Just hope he doesn't succeed this one weekend.

Boomer put up yardage but threw a lot of picks too, 4-5 in that 500 yard passing game he had. When Graham got healthy they gave him back the job because they thought he was the future starter. Boomer was convinced it was to keep him from getting a bonus based on offensive plays or something and complained.

Who knows Bidwill might do something like that.

Good luck Sunday I've been looking at the Bengals stats and I'm quite impressed with Johnson and Warrick, Kitna's season and your RB's.

Hope you lose but I hope it's a good game.

Boomer was with the Cards before the Internet made it possible for out of towners like me to follow the Cards that closely, so I don't know anything about benchings, sulking, walking out etc.

What I do remember was that (a) Boomer could (and did) light it up under the right circumstances, (b) it didn't hurt that Jim Fassell was his OC and that (c) subsequently, Boomer came across to me as a "Me-Guy" who was more concerned about Boomer than he was about winning.

What was really depressing was that - from a couple of his performances - I could visualize a Coryell-style 500 yards per game offensive powerhouse with Boomer at the helm and because (as typical of the Cardinals) "things happen", this somehow slipped away from us.

This might be a bias opinion, but I would put Kitna in. He has been red hot! Just look at his stats recently.

Pressure

Kitna wasn't pressured yesterday....that happens at home....the Bengals have a great OL.....they'd better be on the road....if we can pressure Kitna we win.
