The more that comes out about the Cincinnati Bengals' movement before the 2025 NFL draft, the more apparent the team’s plan seems to become.

After some reported meetings with major defensive line prospects and some of the top running backs, now word has started to emerge about meetings with premier edge rushers.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Bengals have a meeting scheduled with edge rusher James Pearce Jr. out of Tennessee.

One of the top edge rushers in the class, Pearce had 17.5 sacks over his last two seasons and was a two-time First-Team All-SEC selection.

Pearce has long felt like one of the most obvious ways the Bengals could go in the first round if he’s on the board at their pick. Given his profile and skill set, he’s bound to be near tops on their board during the opening round.

The Bengals could certainly use the infusion of talent in this area even if the Trey Hendrickson saga resolves itself between now and training camp. They’ve yet to get notable play from former first-rounder Myles Murphy and names like Joseph Ossai need help.

Pearce, then, remains a key name to watch during the draft process.
