Under Zac Taylor, the Cincinnati Bengals have loved to prioritize prospects from big programs with experience and captaincy as a bonus in the early rounds of the NFL draft.

That approach continues in most mock drafts, with a new two-round effort from Draft Wire's Jeff Risdon featuring the Bengals going after a pair of SEC defenders to boost Al Golden's rebuilding unit.

In the first round there, the Bengals grab pass rusher Jalon Walker out of Georgia:

"Walker has been Plan B for a lot of the recent picks, and the Bengals tab the undersized-but-dynamic pass rush option to make a potentially lethal 1-2 punch with Trey Hendrickson off the edge."

The Bengals follow that up in Round 2 with Ole Miss cornerback Trey Amos.

It's a nice one-two punch that would earn the Bengals high grades right after the event ends, as the entire defensive unit needs more talent deeper into the depth chart.

Edge rusher and cornerback are particularly tricky, though. Beyond the Trey Hendrickson drama, the Bengals have yet to get a big showing from first-rounder Myles Murphy and brought back Joseph Ossai in an attempt to keep the rotation deep.

And at corner, Cam Taylor-Britt is a question mark from a performance standpoint and both DJ Turner and Dax Hill are coming off season-ending injuries.

While this sort of mock draft isn't as flashy as say, getting Joe Burrow another weapon, it might be better than adding to the offense in the long run.
