John Ross, often injured, poor route runner, body catcher, who happens to be lightning fast...this is an Al Davis special...HARD PASS!

ugh definitely sounds like cant catch the ball when it matters Nelson

I would like to know why the Bengals are giving up on him. Is it his route running or his hands or what.

According to a Bengals fan who called into Sirius NFL the new HC has been watching tons of tape and decided that Ross quits on routes and isn't good at running them so he wants him gone.

Why do you think he is any better than JJ Nelson? He's fast too. The fact they are giving up on him this fast tells me he is useless, therefor trading for him would be a mistake.

If this wasn't the Bengals giving up on him, I'd 100% agree with you...BUT...It's the Bengals...categorically and historically one of the worst run franchises in the NFL.

Best I would offer is our 6th round comp pick. It's a gamble but that type of speed is rare. I really doubt there will be a ton of teams offering anything better than that.

Ross is only two seasons removed from being a top-10 draft pick, but Cincinnati will have difficulty extracting anything near that kind of value for him. The record-setting speedster’s straight-line speed hasn’t been enough to cover up his flaws as a receiver. His routes are still sloppy, his hands are unimpressive, and nothing he’s shown over the first two years of his career suggest he can play a starring role on a contending team.

Catch rate 36.20% last
Yards per target 3.6 last
Success rate 25% last
Success rate on blitz downs 7% last

Yeah, but if you look at the big picture our history as a whole has not been much better and all 32 teams still know when they have a bust on their hands lol

Ross is another prime example of drafting small, fast guys early in the draft. More often than not, they struggle because their main asset, speed, is neutralized at the NFL level.

I see Ross, and Tavon Austin comes to mind. I put Kyler Murray in that buyer beware category too.

Anything more than a 6th is insane. Dude can't make it out of the training room.
Teams can only afford a few risks on oft injured guys.
There are other players who are slightly slower than Ross (was at the combine), but they play every down...don't get caught up in the combine EVER...it's always been a joke.
If a guy can't play on Saturday's at a super high level...they sure as hell won't be able to do it on Sundays....and it's proven.

I'd do it on the cheap, like some others have mentioned, but I'm not jumping up and down over it.

Still want WR to be a priority in the draft. I want someone to grow with Rosen.
One thing about batting last - you can compensate for a waiver mistake by cutting the guy early and claiming the next dude who shows up on the waiver wire.
