Berks boys tennis championships: Daniel Boone’s Chase Gerloff finishes off perfect run

Daniel Boone’s Chase Gerloff was perfect in the BCIAA Boys Tennis Championships, becoming the Blazers’ first Flight 1 champion.

The Blazers sophomore, who attended the Hill School last year, didn’t lose a set en route to winning the Flight 1 title.

He is 20-0 this season and did not lose a game in any match, going 240-0.

On Wednesday, he beat Wyomissing freshman Parth Khachane 6-0, 6-0 in the championship match at Gov. Mifflin High School.

Gerloff, the AAA top seed, defeated Wilson’s Griffin Saar in his first round match and then beat Gov. Mifflin’s Tiberiu Danciu in the quarterfinals. On Tuesday, he beat Conrad Weiser’s Armaan Malik in the semifinals.

Gerloff teamed with Lucas Armbruster to win the Flight 1 doubles title.

They defeated Conrad Weiser’s Malik and Jio Garcia 6-1, 6-3 in the championship match.

In the Flight 2 singles final, Wyomissing’s Aaron Andrews defeated Conrad Weiser’s Charles Coleman 5-7, 7-5, 10-6.

In Flight 3 singles, Wyomissing’s Truman Peters defeated Daniel Boone’s John Hartline 6-0, 6-3.

In the Flight 4 title match, Conrad Weiser’s Owen Hunt beat Daniel Boone’s Logan Illigasch 6-2, 6-0.

In Flight 5 singles, the Scouts’ John Tharp downed Daniel Boone’s Owen Bell 6-4, 6-0.

In the Flight 2 doubles championship match, Wyomissing’s Max Weiss and Adrien Bongbong defeated Berk Catholic’s Lukas Arbuckle and Lucas Bauer 6-7 (4-7), 6-1, 10-8 in the finals.
