I'm with you on best ones, though I haven't seen all of Finding Nemo (seemed good) or any of A Mighty Wind (I know...I hang my head in shame). I'd add The Last Samurai, Master and Commander, and Evelyn to the best movies list...probably more, but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

Worst? Completely agree on House and Hulk...absolutely refused to watch Nat'l Security and Gigli (pronounced giggly Lol). I'd have to add Under the Tuscan Sun. Now, I like good chick flicks, but it wasn't even good. Not even in a this-isn't-the-kind-of-chick-flick-I-like-but-I-can-see-why-chicks-dig-it way. It just sucked. In fact, it made me physically angry, as I was using it as a stress break during the middle of an MFA final paper. Needless to say, it didn't work

Haven't seen Freddy or Scary 3, but Old School...YES!!! Final Destination? Not bad, but not really a guilty pleasure, IMO.:D

And I must say, I thought previews of Kill Bill made it look like a sellout on Quentin's part...and when I left the theater, I was bowing down to him and saying 'I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy!"

I pretty much agree with the above list, as well as adding what Stout said, but I would probably remove Hulk from the "worst" list. It wasn't the best, but it wasn't the worst--I'd have to add Matrix Reloaded instead.

I thought of adding both Matrix sequels but they didn't muster enough emotion out of me one way or the other. Rarely can I say that I felt complete and total apathy towards a film but the sequels were completely pointless IMO.

Matrix movies would go under the newly created "Biggest Disappointments" category...

Weirdest film most deserving of a best actor nod:
- Robert Downey Jr. in The Singing Detective

Best film I saw this year? Adaptation. Was it released this year? I dont know, but thats the best I saw this year.

My best in no particular order:

28 Days Later, reinvented zombies for me.

Old School, It's on or very near to the same plane as Animal House.

Bad Santa, It's so nice to see a funny movie that isn't PC but not anti-PC just for the shock value.

Matrix 2: I never got into the "plot" so to speak so I wasn't exactly dissappointed when it turned out there wasn't one! The highway scene had me in visual overload, my brain just sh*t itself halfway through trying to watch all the action, good soundtrack too.

Pirates of the Carribean: Good solid Depp movie.

I don't really have any worst movies because I avoid most movies like the plague and if I think it looks stupid/unoriginal I just won't go see it. Spending money on crap means Hollywood will keep churning out crap.

Cardinal Mike!!

Oh, I almost blocked From Justin To Kelly out of my mind but yes, that movie is as bad as advertised. It's no House of the Dead, but it's mind-numbingly bad all the same.

And of course, from the "Better than I thought it would be" category:

Pirates
T3
X2

And I didn't even think about... Definitely add Master and Commander to the Best Of list.

Both of these movies were good but for me they weren't amongst the best of the year.

I thought Pirates was a fun movie but everytime Johnny Depp wasn't on screen the film dragged. Once Upon a Time in Mexico had so much going for it but Rodriguez needs to be held accountable for putting Enrique Iglesias in the film. I thought it was underdeveloped and a bit plodding at times but a cool movie nonetheless.

I'd have put The Rundown in the same category as these two. I liked it quite a bit but it left me wanting a bit more from it when everything was said and done.

I have to see Master and Commander.

Damn! How could I forget T3? That was one of my favorite movies of the summer. An action film without slow motion action sequences - what a concept! :D

Once Upon A Time in Mexico was a pretty big disappointment to me. It didn't have that "El Mariachi/Desperado" feel to it. And Salma is hardly in it too! :(
