Here’s another one:

Joaquin Phoenix
Jason Robards
Rick Moranis
Mary Steenbergen
Tom Hulce
Keanu Reeves
Steve Martin
Diane Weist
Martha Plimpton

And of course, you can’t forget Clint Howard (this one oddly enough is the dead giveaway).

That was a good one. Ron Howard really started to show his stuff there.

it’s such a great movie. every single character is so well defined in their first scene. Their personalities and conflicts they need to overcome in the story.

also just has some of the best one-liners and throwaway one-liners.

Night Shift, Splash, Cocoon, Gung Ho, Willow and Parenthood are his first movies from the 80's, and every one of them is a treat in its own way.
And they got better in the 90's.

I need to rewatch that - saw it when it came out in theaters..... Maybe 5th grade?!?.... Went with my uncle.

I despised that movie so much - absolutely didn't enjoy it at all and have shunned it ever since

Only recently have i encountered people who talk about it favorably - not that many talked negatively about it, just not mentioned at all

I didn't care for Parenthood either but that might be because I sulked all the way through the movie.

The bank I worked at sent a bunch of us to Lincoln, Nebraska in November 1989 for classes on the system and software we were converting to. Our first free weekend we decided as a group on what to do. I was the only one that wanted to see Dwight Yoakam in concert, the rest voted to see Gallagher. I'd enjoyed his Vegas show before but this night he was horrible, playing up to the locals with every racist, sexist or gay joke you could think of. The next night, we voted again, Dwight was playing his last night there but everyone voted to see Parenthood instead. So, I despised the movie and I never did get to see Yoakam.

Bonus points for inclusion of the exclamation point.

Underrated and completely ridiculous movie.

I was disappointed when it first came out but it definitely grew on me with subsequent viewings. And you left out one of the big names in the movie, Jack Nicholson. Not him, the other Jack Nicholson, plus I think Slim Whitman deserves a mention too.

Anthony Mackie
Woody Harrelson
Aaron Paul
Kate Winslet
Gal Gadot
Norman Reedus
Teresa Palmer
Michael K. Williams
Clifton Collins Jr.

Did you like it? I watched part of it, found it too brutal for my tastes but yeah, it's a very good cast. And Woody just seemed out of place, or poorly directed to me. Triple 9 for the curious.

Here's another "guess the movie", with a solid cast. Some of the character actors are probably better known to Canadian audiences but they've all pretty recognizable by face if not by name.

Sean Penn
Robert DeNiro
Hoyt Axton
Demi Moore
Bruno Kirby
Ray McAnally
James Russo
Wallace Shawn
John C Reilly
Jay Brazeau
Frank C Turner
Matthew Walker
Richard Newman
Garwin Sanford
Antony Holland
Karen Elizabeth Austin

Adapted from a play, the original and far superior version IMO included Humphrey Bogart, Aldo Ray, Peter Ustinov, Joan Bennett, Basil Rathbone and Leo G Carroll.
