Mid-way through the year, here's my top 5:

01. porcupine tree - fear of a blank planet
02. blackfield - ii
03. pain of salvation - scarsick
04. threshold - dead reckoning
05. nine inch nails - year zero

Not many more albums left in the second half of the year. The ones i'm waiting for are dredg, riverside, king's x, radiohead, anathema and deadsoul tribe. There may be a new coldplay cd, but probably next year is more likely.

how about worst CD's?

I vote "Minutes to Midnight" by Linkin Park.... after 5 years or whatever it's been... they lost a lot of people that hated the new direction they went in

The Porcupine Tree is very good, but I also give a thumbs up to the new Maroon 5. It's refreshing in a retro kind of way.

I really liked the first Maroon 5 CD. But the (long overdue) follow-up has not lived up to my expectations. I like a few songs, but not the whole CD like the first one.

Agreed. It's not a CD you can just put on and leave it. But the first 5 songs are plenty worthy of the repeat command, IMO.

I loved every song in their new album. It's good to see they can do something different, and do it well, unlike Nickelback.

By far... the Good, the Bad, and the Queen, however, unfortunately it's not one of the best all-time albums, but it suffices in today's horrid music market.

They're awesome... I love their '05 self-titled album..especially the song "Daft Punk Is Playing At My House".

I must check-out their newer material.

I love White Stripes newest release, despite in some instances it doesn't differ much from their last cpl albums, however, no need to change greatness.
