He's going to Boston or more likely Miami. He's looking to waive over $6M so he can get off the Wiz and try to win a title, so you have to commend him for that, thats a big chunk of change. He'd be a good fit in Miami as he can handle the ball, won't be asked to do too much and can still nail an open 3.

I imagine both Bibby and Troy Murphy end up with the Heat. Murphy could even see some spot starts with them when the Heat are playing a smaller team in a Bosh-Murphy-LeBron-Wade-Bibby lineup.

E: Though the Suns may have a chance at Bibby next year if he wants to come home to finish out his career and the Suns move Nash.

Agree that likely Bibby will go to a contender. Question is - how long a deal will he sign? Will he keep his options open for next year?

Reportedly he will sign with the Heat. Big surprise there.

It'll just be a deal for the minimum for the rest of this year. No one's giving a guy like him a multi year deal with the new CBA on the horizon and his age.

I commend him for waiving six million dollars to try to play with a contender.

Mike Bibby, who attended Shadow Mountain HS, comes from a family of professional athletes.

His father Henry, a Point Guard with the Knicks and three other NBA teams, is an Assistant Coach with the Memphis Grizzlies.

His uncle Jim was signed by the Mets in an amateur draft, then pitched for four Major League teams starting seven years later.

And BTW, his brother-in-law is guard Eddie House of the Miami Heat.

This might have been a good pickup (assuming it was even an option) had we not traded for Brooks. I would have taken Bibby in a heart beat to backup Nash. However, after the trade? Timing sucks....wouldn't be such a good move now.

I imagine I'd have gone with Bibby if he had been available when we signed Brooks, but with Brooks here and looking like he's fitting in quite well, I would leave things alone. I'm thinking Aarons aggressiveness is just what our second unit needs.

I highly doubt Bibby will be contend with coming off the bench on a non-contender

Since he is going to Heat, the real question is whether anyone likes Carlos Arroyo, who was released to make room for Bibby.

Carlos Arroyo has talent, I don't think we need another PG and I don't thinK Arroyo will come here. The rich get richer with the Heat and Bibby will soon realize how standing on the court and watching Wade, Lebron, and Bosh play without doing much of anything else feels like.

With Bibby, winning makes a lot of other considerations go away.

IMHO Arroyo is better than Dowdell (not much of a reach). He might not prefer the Suns, but he has a vet minimum contract and is still under waiver rulses. He has talent and can shoot.

Perhaps, but I doubt he's better than Dowdell for the Suns. Dowdell's main responsibility is to sub for Nash during practices and between this current stint and his summer run with us, he's much better prepared for that role than any other player would be. Of course, that's assuming we don't lose Nash or Brooks to injury and end up needing a 20 minute a game player.
