Loser talk. If the Cardinals had lost he would have bashed them for that too.

A wonderful win for many reasons. Some of our younger players will really benefit from this game. Need to experience success.

Exactly right. Any time people are generally happy in this market its time to bring out Debbie Downer. Very tiresome.

Your talkng about the coaches and players. OF COURSE they are playing to win. HCs records are hugely important on if they are retained. Why would players like Skelton want to be in a position where a player like Newton comes in and takes his job. Yes undoubtedly I want coaches and players playng to win every game.

But I am talking about as a fan. Why should I cheer for meaningless wins in December that could alter our franchise for years to come?

Thats my point. That McCown useless TD to beat Minnesota was worthless and might have cost us the QBOF we could really use now. That us assuming alot, but I would rather we had that choice.

I agree with many of the posters who say its all about evaluation moreso then where you draft. But I am obssessed with finally getting our QBOF (see the way I clung to hope in Leinart) and your chances of securing that guy are best towards the top of the draft.

Saying all this its important to realize a few things. I think we are in the #6 spot now. If Buffalo and/or Detroit get another win we move back up to 5 or 4. Not to mention Buffalo, Denver, or Detroit are unlikely to draft the #2 QB off the board.

So all is not lost really. My worry is that with this win and possibly another next week, the FO and coaching staff tricks itself into thinking only band aids are needed. Hell no. Get rid of Davis, lets get a REAL OC, and lets address the QB position like our lives depend on it.

you make a lot of good points that i can't disagree with, and i more than anyone wanted leinert to work out, but the history of this franchise suggests to me anyway, that absent the first pick in the draft we weren't going to pick a quarterback
so i enjoy what i can as a fan and hope for the best, what else can i do. i am not in the war room nor do i have the bidwills ear, just pray that we have some sort of brain trust here and that our taste of the superbowl really put a thorn in the side of ownership coaching scouting and the front office to where they will do whatever it takes to get back there and turn around decades of bad decisions and stinking thinking
meanwhile i will savor last nights win and hope to god we are in a position to take the division title away from the 9ers next week with a win

There's no reason to tank a game where you're trying to evaluate a rookie QB, you try and win.

Drafting will take care of itself, we were never going to get luck anyhow, so it's really not a big deal to fall down in the draft, top ten is plenty high.
