And to vilify Bickley like everybody has just because he's urging caution on all the Kurt Warner hysteria (and because he's understandably skeptical after the past 17 or so atrocious Cardinals' seasons) seems nonsensical to me.

i appreciate journalism and editorials with a realistic bent as much as anyone (hell i think that's what i strive for in my postings, that, and poor humor), but bickley's article here smacks of biting criticism. "rging caution" . . . that's what you got of this article?!? that's sugar-coating it. his last line of the article basically said the cards were stupid to do this b/c it's bound for failure.

in addition to conveniently leaving out brad johnson and daunte culpepper as young bucks that denny developed he also left out jim mcmahon and warren moon as players whose careers he resurrected. that's shoddy journalism. i mean, if you told me that green had raised brad johnson and daunte and resurrected the careers of mcmahon, moon, george, and cunningham (into mvp, i might add) you'd have to look at that and marvel. it would have to give you some pretty hope that warner's got a shot of revival. but no, bickley takes the tried and true (and easy) path of its the cards, so it'll fail. weak.

Bickley and the rest of the Phoenix media are just cry-babies right now. We are getting so much love from everyone else and all they can think is - "Man - I wish Mac was here so we could buddy up to a guy who has no business being a ahead coach."

If Bob Kemp is on the radio in the afternoon, I change the station, he is one negative dude. Also, there is a relatively new reporter who was on channel's 12's Sunday night sports show with Zenner last Sunday by the name of Derick Togerson and he is a twin to that moron Bickley, he said some outrageous stuff about the Cards and the signing of Warner. Where do they find these guys? I imagine none of these guys ever played a sport!

Anyways, my issue is that most of these "journalist", "talk show hosts", "sports anchors" etc are transplants and still are partial (especially Gambo) to those teams that they "rooted" for while "growing-up" (if they even ever did)..... They'll never speak anything posiitive until "our" teams win since they're a bunch of bandwagon/fair-weather fans to begin with.......

I like the Warner signing. However, the point I got from the article is the Cards are trying to fill key positions with other teams cast offs. At some point (I hope this year in the draft) the Cards address along term solution for QB. Even if Warner proves to be some semblence of his old self he does not have many years left. He has been fired fired the Rams and The Giants. It is ok to me to point out potential down side of moves. I would get bored reading a homer who thought every move made was like a stroke from god. I see Warner with potential for stop gap fill at QB. All the negatives pointed out in the article exist.
