"Bidwill said he talked to both Green and vice president of football operations Rod Graves via phone Monday and asked them to “redouble their efforts” in trying to turn the season around."
redouble their efforts. That's just strikes me as very funny for some reason.
This is going to be tasteless but I can't stop myself.
This is like giving a pep talk to the kid who runs the wrong way at the special olympics by telling him to just try harder...
O for the love of God.
i was trying to figure out the most accurate analogy ending with "try harder". you nailed it.
eh...
translation: Denny I'm not going to pay your ass to sit at home for the rest of the season. You might as well do something produc.... oh nevermind.
Sorry Clif but no it isn't this isn't about cash, it's about not having any better options until the season is over.
I have a word of very simple advice to Denny Green, Michael Bidwill and Rod Graves. Perhaps they should take a cue from Bill sr (imagine that...) and just say: no comment to everything. Especially now that we are 1 - 6. Everytime they start talking...things just go progressively downhill. If I were in their shoes..and I saw a microphone..I would run. Urban or Somers hanging around? Go the other way. Especially now. Their comments seem to deteriorate at the same level of absurdity as the play of the team.
Ok...graves has not said anything publicly for a few weeks.....I will give you that...but his last comments a few weeks away were not good.
I am not sure what to do about Denny's weekly and postgame press conferences....but some terrible teams seem to get thru them on a weekly basis without making completely crazy statements week after week...
conrad: exactly! The Master...
Sorry Clif but no it isn't this isn't about cash, it's about not having any better options until the season is over.
Why is this shocking?? Haven't we been saying all day that Green would last until the bye or perhaps the end of the season. It makes no sense to make ANYONE on his staff the interim HC. I agree with the decision.
The fact of the matter is that firing Denny today, tommorrow or after next Sunday wont make a whit of difference to the team this season.
The weakness is in the scheme, the assistant coaches and some of the players -- none of that can be fixed until the offseason
