"Bidwill said he talked to both Green and vice president of football operations Rod Graves via phone Monday and asked them to “redouble their efforts” in trying to turn the season around."

redouble their efforts. That's just strikes me as very funny for some reason.

This is going to be tasteless but I can't stop myself.

This is like giving a pep talk to the kid who runs the wrong way at the special olympics by telling him to just try harder...

O for the love of God.

It's got that hopeful desperate, I'm in deep stuff with my dad tone that's just special.

In fact it's exactly like something one friend would say to another in an impossible situation, .... ie.... dude, we're here at the house and it burned down, your dads prized dead species stuffed animal impossible to replace collection he loves more than life itself is ashes.. What do we do...

Insert crazy insane denial of reality talk here.

That's it exactly! The seasons over why not just finish the season so we don't have to eat the rest of the $$....Bidwills love their $$ that's for sure

Shouldn't we have re-doubled before now?

I know I have 20-20 hindsight, but if I knew we had a doubler, I would have thought the time to break it out was after the SF game.

Sorry Clif but no it isn't this isn't about cash, it's about not having any better options until the season is over.

I believe you.

The alternative is too horrible to contemplate.

I'll just chalk it up as Michael not knowing exactly how to phrase that, and hoping he dosen't get much more practice anytime soon.

He should of just said he's the coach for now, inserting the part about telling them to try harder was a rookie thing to say.

So they are now trying super-secret double hard? Whew, I feel better about being HANDLED by what I have thought the first portion of this year was the most dysfunctional, poorly prepared team I had seen in a while. I think we now have to petition for reinstatement by the NFL to be able to play in the league again. Isn't that the rule? Lose to Oakland, get kicked out?

I have a word of very simple advice to Denny Green, Michael Bidwill and Rod Graves. Perhaps they should take a cue from Bill sr (imagine that...) and just say: no comment to everything. Especially now that we are 1 - 6. Everytime they start talking...things just go progressively downhill. If I were in their shoes..and I saw a microphone..I would run. Urban or Somers hanging around? Go the other way. Especially now. Their comments seem to deteriorate at the same level of absurdity as the play of the team.

Ok...graves has not said anything publicly for a few weeks.....I will give you that...but his last comments a few weeks away were not good.

I am not sure what to do about Denny's weekly and postgame press conferences....but some terrible teams seem to get thru them on a weekly basis without making completely crazy statements week after week...

Bill is many things, but an inexperienced loser isn't one of them, you're right given this situation, they can learn much from the master.

conrad: exactly! The Master...

I can see him rolling his eyes now...

Young fools, sigh...

Do not offer hope, when there is none, ...... simply tell them you'll make money even if no one ever comes to the games and leave....

Rookies.

Well, now I've seen everything. The one time I'm on board with the Fire Denny crew and it doesn't take place? Do it NOW...why not? End of the season will do nothing. Just do it and get it done. Denny doesn't want to be here. It's clear...what he is doing isn't working here.

The fact of the matter is that firing Denny today, tommorrow or after next Sunday wont make a whit of difference to the team this season.

The weakness is in the scheme, the assistant coaches and some of the players -- none of that can be fixed until the offseason

Come on Nidan... we all know it has something to do with the money and that's ok. I wouldn't want to be on the hook for two head coaches either. Sure there aren't any viable options at this time, but even if there were they wouldn't pull the plug just yet anyways.

Why is this shocking?? Haven't we been saying all day that Green would last until the bye or perhaps the end of the season. It makes no sense to make ANYONE on his staff the interim HC. I agree with the decision.

I used to live in LA...had raider season tickets...lost interest in them when they moved to oakland about the same time I moved to Arizona... I can vouch for one thing: Art Shell knows the drill. He never says much of anything quotable...win or lose..but if the teams sucks..that guy is nowhere to be found. On the other hand...he is not in love with the sound of his own voice..some folks are..

As pointed out...Michael could have said Denny is our coach for now..and left. His: I called Rod and Denny and said..try harder...is so outrageous I struggle to believe he actually said it...
