Give me a freaking break, what about Bidwill walked in and saw Wells from behind and for all intentive purposes it looked like his pants were on and when Wells turned Bidwill held his hand out to shake and before he realized that Wells was not done, Wells extended his hand to shake as well (hell, I would not prevent my pants not being all the way up to shake the hands of the man who is going to make me rich)...what are they going to do, take their arms down at that point?

yes, I had to explain a whole scenario because people tend to get very picky about short messages here LOL

Sorry, I'm just a little ticked of people picking on the old man. His football sense is from a by-gone era and he has made more than his share of mistakes in this aspect but he is one of the kindest owners out there in comparison to most.

No kidding. Bill Bidwill is introduced to Beanie (or Chris as Shane says :) ) and Beanie extends his hand. Bill says, "Pull your pants up, then I'll shake your hand." Four years later as Beanie is in a rush to sign with another team everyone questions why. "The day that I met him he wouldn't shake my hand" Beanie replies. Bidwill sucks, right?

How anyone can lay judgement on a situation when all they have is a snapshot of it is beyond me.

I can't be the only who'd watch a reality show about Bill Bidwill, can I? Maybe "The Flavor of Bidwill" or "Bidwill of Love" where eligible senior ladies try to win Bills heart. That would be glorious.

I'm diggin the pink. When you're a 235 pound bowling ball, you can pull it off. I think the only guys on the team that would make fun of him for play on the offensive and defensive line...

This is the first I have heard of "Bidwells typical awkwardness BS". I grew up in the eighties spending every summer with the Cardinals during camp. Bidwill was always genuinely kind. He has been bashed over and over again for things that I don't always agree with. He is a family heir and may not be the greatest football/slash business mind but he is the owner of MY favorite team. Your remarks are rehashed media BS and I find it appalling. Anyway, a rant is a rant. The cards have been in my blood as long as many of my own family members and I would die for them. Get it?

Shane... I have never talked to you. I have read your messages for years. I am not trying to get into a pissing contest but I have been a fan for 28 years... some members for fifty and sixty...doesn't matter. If you read my statement carefully you will see that I would die for my family. I am making a correlation to the strong connection I share with the Cardinals. I met Bidwill in the early eighties. He was very kind and grandfatherly...not creepy. This whole thread is trying to make a situation and a man appear creepy. I have never understood the intense hatred of Bidwill. He never talks. People assume things based on media speculation and conjecture. Not on first hand knowledge. That's it...all I have. Peace and hair grease.

You've been following the team and its owner long enough to spell the family name correctly: Bidwill. :D

Bidwill is old. Old people always do awkward things like this.

Maybe it wasn't the suavest gesture in football history, but he made the freakin' gesture. That's the important thing.

In the earlier days, Mr. B might not have reached out at all - due to shyness or feeling awkward.

Where is it written in the NFL Rule Book that team owners have to be George Clooney?

Can we all get back to football, please?

All these comments about the picture are based on one instant.

Maybe - Beanie is sitting down with his pants open. Bidwill walks up behind his back.

Bidwill - Hello, Mr Wells, welcome to the organiztion
Beanie - Oh ****, better zip up my pants.

He gets up to face his boss and quickly tries to zip it up.

Photographer - Damn, a good photo op.

AZFANS - lets discuss this matter to death

You are correct...I hope you feel grrrreat about yourself. I am sure you do. I am sure it makes your day to correct other peoples spelling errors.

That's what he does. He even has his own ASFN word, BIM to reference a misspelled or misused word. And we love him for it.

Its one thing to spell Its wrong. Quite another to spell Bidwill wrong. You've been on this board long enough to know its a sore point with the ASFN family.

That's right...spelling errors don't bother me. Substance is what counts. Actually, I am bothered more by syntax than spelling. A mistake is nothing but a lack of passion is unforgivable.

Dude, he OWNES the team...if he's naked and wants to shake his hand he should.

You could easily turn the tables and say,'look how excited Mr. B was to have Wells in the family.'

Reading too much into it. Mr. B...I've met him...he's a nice and simple guy...who happens to own an NFL football team.

And Beanie was smart to smile and shake his hand.

Finally, some words of wisdom.

I think that Mr. Bidwill was somewhat in awe being with Beanie at all.
