So much for karma. It seems the Suns can never catch a break when it comes to coin flips and the lottery.

Although that's true in general, their odds were extremely long in this case: pretty much the same as exactly predicting the top card of a shuffled deck.

I understand but the Suns have never drafted number one in the draft nor do I expect it to change anytime in the foreseeable future. IMO, the best chance for the Suns to draft number one is for the rules to be changed. The Suns are not a lucky team. They have to earn everything they get. Hopefully McDonough can make things happen for the Suns.

True. Though the Cavs had a 1.7% chance of getting #1, the Suns had a 1.8% chance of getting 1-3. So those odds are apparently enough, but we never seem to have Lady Luck on our side.

It would have been a-maz-ing to get a top pick this year. But if we're talking karma, I like the way the Suns are doing it. I would have been open to tanking, but things look so much better now than if we were rudderless and drafting #5 through #9 or something like that.

We had miniscule odds to move up, and odds are small that you'll draft a superstar at #14. Maybe the latter will out...

Yep. We could have tanked and ended up with the 7 or 8 pick and feel like the year was wasted. Also, the players we now have would not have been nearly as valuable as trade assets and we would not be as interesting as a FA destination.

This team made the right choice.

I totally agree. I have great hope going forward now. I like the team we have assembled and love the new coaching staff and general manager. The other way, all our eggs would be in one basket hoping we draft our savior and that he can turn everything around.
