Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane appeared on the Fitz and Whit Podcast, hosted by former NFL players Ryan Fitzpatrick and Andrew Whitworth.
With Fitzpatrick being a former Bills quarterback (2009 to 2012) and a current member of Bills Mafia, of course he was going to bring up Bills QB Josh Allen.
When asked by Fitzpatrick what Allen means to the Bills organization, Beane takes us back to the night of the 2018 NFL Draft when the Allen era began in Buffalo. He specifically recalls what he saw in Allen, a physically-gifted, but raw quarterback talent out of Wyoming, that others may not have seen at the time.
"When I went down to my [post-draft] press conference... they were all over me about why did I take Josh Allen, why wouldn't I choose Josh Rosen," Beane said. "I kept telling them... he's physically gifted, he can do everything in our weather, he's got size, people are forgetting what an athlete this guy is... I promise you when you meet him you're going to know what I'm talking about."
Allen was Beane's very first draft selection as an NFL general manager, and he has become everything that Beane imagined and more. Not only is he the perfect for Buffalo and the face of the Bills, but fast forward seven years and he is the MVP of the league and now has five straight seasons with 40+ touchdowns.
