As well as we have done filling needs we could target a QB we like in the draft and it wouldn't hurt us.

Most likely won't be there at 20 but if he is you have to take him. Carson has a short shelf life and is not long term. If you can get a really young QB with upside you have to do it.

Schaub just went to Oakland so Bortles could be the #1 pick. But knowing the Texans, who let a premier pass rusher leave as a FA so they could pay a RB, I wouldn't be surprised if they took Manziel at #1 so they could fire up the fans in SE Texas and make them forget last season's fiasco.

On the other hand Keenum played at U of Houston so he may be their guy for the near future and the Texans could go in another direction.

Matt Schaub for a 6th round draft pick. Wow!

Texans just signed Ryan Fitzpatrick.

With his experience, Fitzpatrick would seem an ideal bridge quarterback for new coach Bill O'Brien until the team's finds it's long-term solution, perhaps with the first overall pick in May's draft.

Fitzpatrick would have to beat out young Case Keenum and T.J. Yates for the starting job.

And according to the second quote in your post Bortles or Manziel could still be the Texans choice in the May draft. Fitzpatrick is also 31 and is now on his 4th team which indicates to me he's nothing more than a #2 QB. Not good enough to pay a #1 QB salary like Buffalo did but good enough to be on an NFL roster at what the Texans paid him.
