If we're going to not do or hesitate to do things based on the fact we've sucked at them in the past then the Bidwill's might as well sell the team and take up hiking.

I do not think the problem was we failed to develop Matt. At this point he has not thrown the ball for his new team so something is wrong with Matt. Personally, I think it is a mental problem and once he got all the signing money he took it for granted he would be the man. He always looked to me like a QB that did not want to take a hit as QBs are required to do to be successful. Matt did not have to take very many hits in college with all those future NFL players around him. Maybe I am wrong on this but it would show up in practice and the players as well as the coaches would be very quick to pick up on it. Eleven teams chose to pass on him even though all of us thought he was the next coming of Johnny Unitas. Would be nice to know what these 11 teams thought about him. After his failure here and not even throwing the ball with his team last year I do not see him in the NFL much longer. If he was going to make a comeback it should have been last year.

I think to the man we all thought we had really found our QBOTF. I do not blame Graves or anyone. Who could really see this coming. We did know he was a playboy and liked all the Hollywood parties. Who would not? So did Joe Namath but Joe was one tough guy who could separate his football life from his public life. You really have to be committed all the way to be an NFL QB and you really have to be one tough bas----. Matt seemed to lack those qualities.

He is now gone with the wind and just another one of our failures which is as much bad luck as a lack of knowing who we were drafting. In hindsight it is very easy to see all of our mistakes. Hiring Graves was one of the worst.
