News came out this afternoon that Boise's Athletic director Gene Bleymaier is "stepping down" (Asked to leave) after 30 years. He brought in the blue turf idea and made countless other good hires.

In wake of the impending sanctions for Boise (Which come out this week) this seems to be a pre-cursor to that.

The NCAA is ruling this week on Boise's infractions, and they may be hitting Boise pretty hard if they are doing to let Gene go after all these years.

Stay tuned....

Watch the NCAA to hammer Boise harder than they would a BCS team.

I have a feeling about that.

Ohio State vacates OLD wins and cans coach and they say it's enough. Boise did less practices this year and 3 scholarships per year for the next few. The ruling is due out soon.

I suspect the NCAA will accept what BSU has done, which is probably excessive considering the minor infractions.

Doubtful, they will make an example out of Boise. How dare they mess up the BCS picture year after year.

NCAA ruling is out. Other sports hit harder. Boise loses 3 Football Scholarships a year for the next 3 years as the punishment for this: (From the actual report)

"Student-athlete 1 reached Boise, Idaho, with approximately $30 in cash, two pairs of
jeans and two shirts....Student-athlete 2 supplied groceries
and clothing to student-athlete 1 and gave student-athlete 1 a key to his apartment where
he was allowed to live rent-free. Student-athlete 1 eventually moved in with student-
athlete 3, who lived in the same apartment complex. Student-athlete 1 also received
clothing from student-athlete 4 and often ate meals provided by student-athlete 3."

Second worst idea ever.

They went undefeated at home on it, and won the National championship. I guess it worked.

then there is this debut:

Some of the rulings on 2 of the 3 Dutch boise players have come out as to why they were suspended for multiple games. Got to love the NCAA. These kids played their HS ball in Boise, and stayed with host families. Someone sent an anonymous letter to the NCAA, questioning their eligibility. All have been in the program 3-5 years.

Credric Febis, a starting corner, was suspended for one game (The georgia game) for a $20 "Impermissible benefit"

WR geraldo boldewijn was just reinstated after a 4 game ban for driving an "Impermissible" 1991 toyota camary with 177,000 miles. Paid a $700 penalty.

Meanwhile, A car full or Oregon players gets' caught in a car rented by a booster, going 118 MPH, smelling of pot and ONE guy gets ONE game suspension.

Interesting......
