The Cardinals got good news Monday afternoon when they learned that receiver Anquan Boldin suffered merely a bone bruise in his right knee, with no ligament or meniscus damage.

"The question is with the bone bruise . . . how much time (does he miss), you don’t really know," coach Dennis Green said Monday afternoon during his weekly radio show on ESPN (860 AM).
The Cardinals may have to scramble their receiving corps if Boldin can’t play Sunday at home vs. Seattle.
Bryant Johnson, a former first-round pick who normally is the third receiver, would start if Boldin can’t, Green said.
The third receiver would be rookie LeRon McCoy, whom Green accidentally called "LeBron James" during his Monday morning press conference and again during his radio show.
Said McCoy, "That’s not good if the coach doesn’t know your name."
McCoy called Boldin’s injury unfortunate and praised his teammate for helping him this season.
As for his own situation, "It’s a great opportunity. . . . I feel comfortable."
He indicated he might have to work on his conditioning, "But otherwise, it’s the same type of preparation."
"I’ll have to work to get the confidence of the quarterback," McCoy said.
Boldin, who said he did next to nothing during Monday’s walkthrough, didn’t know the test results at that point.
"I don’t think it’s anything too serious, but you never know," he said. "I’m hoping for the best."
Boldin said he would take a cautious approach about returning. That isn’t a surprise, since the former Pro Bowler may have tried to return too quickly last year when he originally felt pain in his right knee in training camp, only to be forced into surgery after another couple of workouts.
"I don’t want to rush it and make it worse than it is," Boldin said.
Boldin indicated he felt a problem the past couple of weeks but didn’t think much of it. But Saturday night in Dallas, Boldin said he told Johnson it felt uncomfortable.
"I knew at that point, something ain’t right," Boldin said. "I couldn’t explode off it the way I wanted to. It got to the point in the second quarter (against Dallas) where I was limping half the time."
Even so, "I ended up running by a guy for a touchdown. It isn’t that bad. At the same time, it’s not 100 percent."
Boldin has 39 catches for 616 yards and three touchdowns this season.
As for a fourth receiver, Green said the Cards could promote Carlyle Holiday from the practice squad or rehire somebody who had played for them earlier this season. That might be Charles Lee, who was released last week, or possibly Reggie Newhouse, cut before the season.
EXTRA POINTS: Cornerback Eric Green and tackle Oliver Ross could well return to action this week, Dennis Green said.
"I’m definitely playing," Eric Green said. "There’s no question about it."
