It bothers me that this guy claims to be 80% & can wrestle after practice, but STILL isn't playing. He has said that he wants to be there to play in a playoff game, but unless he starts playing every week, we WON'T be in the playoffs. The Carolina game is critical to our playoff chances & we're risking losing a game that would & should be in the W column if he were playing. If we win another one today without him, then it's no big deal. But should we lose today, then I will blame Boldin if we don't make the payoffs at the end of the season. I hope I'm making too big of a deal with this, but do these guys need to be 100% to play!!! Just his presence in uniform & playing 1/4 of the game would inspire the troops, especially with Johnson nicked up also. All I can say Mr. Boldin - WE HAD BETTER WIN TODAY!!!

I trust Q to know when he is ready. I don't want him trying to come back to soon and be out 6 weeks. Levis should have waited .

Your talking about Boldin here. He is the last person you need to second guess about his heart for the game...

I think PA has a legitimate point. I don't think he should've been saying he could play if it was the playoffs and wrestling after practice. I don't think it's the best possible message to send fans, or teammates, that you are taking getting back on the field 100% seriously.

Q is a great player, and we all love him. But, we're 2-0 without him. I think that's because injuries to WRs are the easiest ones to overcome for an offense. I think if we had gone 0-2, he would be playing.

i found it kind of strange the Boldin said he felt good enough to play but wanted to practice first before he played. He's a veteran. If he's good enough to go then stick him out there. This is the tough part of the schedule and when he's needed most. But,on the other hand, if he could be playing, i'm sure he would be out there.

It's kind of funny though that Boldin gets a pass but last year, when he had a bad toe in pre-season, Dansby was a dog and a cancer and should be out there playing no matter what. I guess what it comes down to is that we really don't know how bad a guy is hurt.

If there's a game where we could have the luxury of resting a player, it's this one. It's by no means a gimme, but the Panthers are in disarray and we have them at home. It's a calculated risk, but if it means Boldin comes back closer to 100% rather than staying at 70-80% for most of the season, I'm okay with taking the chance today.

If Johnson was healthy I would agree. This game is far from a gimme in my opinion. The Rams nearly beat us. If Q can play I would like to see him out there.

This game is huge.......

i agree - talking about not wanting to miss games if we're in the playoffs is putting the cart before the horse. It's great that he has that kind of confidence in the team, but you've got to make it there or at least be close to making it there before you start thinking that far ahead. Just ask Lou Pinella about that.

Gonna be a tough one today - i'm looking for us to gut it out!

Yup.

I don't think anything more needs to be said.

I'll just add this...

If it were up to Q, he'd be in the game today... Some people here seem not to understand how football works - particularly in the NFL... No doubt the trainers and coaches assess Q's ability to perform all week before a game. Based on his ability to do certain things during practice, they assess his readiness. Q's own input matters little. If this were a post-season or Super Bowl game, it would be different. However, the coaching staff makes the go, no-go call. Not Q...

Q

Frankly, from what I know, (which is very little) I would sit Q this week and next week and bring him back 100% after the bye...We need him healthy for the stretch.

Agreed if Boldin is wrestling hard after pratice he should play he is crucial to this team winning games. But I defintally don't want Boldin on the field if hes not atleast 90 percent ready don't want to risk any further injury to your star wr

Hi Boldin,
Hope you will be enjoying your "fantasy" playoff appearance...

We needed a playmaker today and thanks for sitting on the sidelines!

Yours truly,

This is exactly why I started this thread. I just knew that we were playing with fire by continuing to sit a guy who's healthy enough to wrestle a teammate to the ground, but couldn't suit up & play maybe half the game. Even with Warner out, an 80% Boldin could have meant a W today. Blame Whiz or blame Boldin, but DAMMIT, he should have played today. Today's game was winnable, even without Warner. I don't want to hear another SUPERMAN comparison to Boldin. Until he learns how to play hurt, I'll refer to him as PEEWEE HERMAN.

It was very frustrating to see him look just fine on the sidelines but not be out there.

We needed him today. Dammit!
