So...how long is he expected to be out?

(Note - I'm hoping he'll at least be held out for Sunday's game - at least as a precautionary measure).

I very much agree with you Jeff. I have had three broken noses which has caused me to have a 30% loss of of air intake through my nose. This can be a simple break or it can be more complex. Even if Boldin wants to play Sunday I sure would insist that he not play for at least this week.

Good point. I have broken my nose a bunch of times. I'm not sure if I have any permanent damage, but until the swelling goes down, it really does affect your air intake.

If it were something in the skull, I find it nearly impossible for him to not have any signs of concussion at all....

Yeah I don't think it is the skull I just don't know precisely what the membrane is. It sounds like a perforated eardrum situation which can be extremely painful and impact your balance, but if you can deal with those you could play with it. I'm assuming a perforated sinus could impact balance too but don't know.

Q is a Warrior if anybody can play with one he can so I'll trust him on that if he can play, he will.

Several years ago in WNY my nephew in Buffalo took a hit to the head .The docs said hed be fine. Two weeks later he was released to play and half way through the game came out with a tremendous headache. He is now a quadra palegic with diminished mental capcity. from my understanding small clots developed that were later relaeased during subsequent hits.Theres a medical name for it which I'll research and post.
Bottom line, IMO, no game is more important than this young mans health.
Sit him until after the bye and let Breaston and others pick up the load. Hes capable and a bright spot after watching the debacle in New York.

Sad to hear that. But did your nephew have the backing of a billion dollar franchise, state of the art medical tests, Multiple days of medical test and the best doctors that money can buy? I know we here about a lot more of these injuries at a regular clip becuase of that fact, and its sad.

It was clear to me ("when he returns")...and he is out.

You know that now. But all week it was said clearly by the coach and the Cardinals insiders that while unlikely to play he wasn yet ruled out.

Thus the misleading title.

Good chance we'll be 2-4 without him in there. He is saying the right things and he has shown he toughness, but after a hit like that you never know how someone is going to react on the football field. Hoping for the best...
