seattle was able to really build their franchise off the galloway trade

they took a flier on shaun alexander, even with ricky watters under contract in the 2000 draft with their dallas pick

going into 2001 they had the 7th pick (dallas) and the 10th pick (theirs)

they used the 7th pick to trade down to 9 where they grabbed koren robinson

then they used the 10th pick to get matt hasselbeck by trading down with GB who gave up #17 - that pick turned out to be steve hutchinson

granted, only 1 of those guys remains with the seahawks today - but all provided a good impact and helped seattle ease the loss of galloway

They also talked about how the Eagles have priced Lito Sheppard so high, that it would take a 1st or an Anquan Boldin-type player to get him.
maybe not I heard today Kevin Curtis is out with surgery. They need a WR and BADLY.

At this point, if we could get a 1st & a second, I would take that in a heart beat. We have no idea just how much Boldin will play this year, & at this point, what kind of effort he'll put forth if he does. I HATE to say it, but he is absolute poison at this juncture.

Can you imagine the pot he's stiring in the clubhouse. What kind of conversations do you think he's having w/ Dockett, Dansby, etc? It kills me to say it, but the sooner w/ cut the strings, the better, given we get equitable compensation.

Rosenhaus has screwed him up! He isn't the first, & unfortunately, won't be the last. Too bad. He seemed like a good kid, even though he came from Florida State.

Smoke & Mirrors people. This is Drew trying to work his magic. This is what Boldin agent gets paid to do. We are talking about millions of dollars. What kind of tatics would you use to gain millions of dollars if you had the chance?

IMO, the people that are seeing that this is simply another ploy by Drew Rosenhaus are the ones that are seeing this for what its worth. See Chad Johnson. See Lance Briggs. All are Rosenhaus clients who effectively have done the same thing: used the media to get attention to the situation. Its a dirty, disgusting negotiating tactic, but clearly one that has made Drew one of the most successful agents in the league.

Johnson and Briggs are 2 differant situations. Boldin has repeatedly went on his 50 state tour and called ownership, our GM and our head coach liars. And then telling the coach to mind his own business. I never rememeber briggs and CJ doing that. Boldin crossed the line and needs to be gone, regardless of when it happens. I see that as non repairable.

Go back into the Drew Rosenhaus archives for a minute. During the initial weeks that the aforementioned situations occurred, the respective teams thought there was no turning back. Even I would have sworn that Briggs was done at Chicago. They will say everything and anything to get their way.

Read some of Chad's quotes about the Bengals. He was accusing the team of pinning the blame on him. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ocho_Cinco

Bucky, how many times do I have to tell you, this is no different than any other Rosenhaus tactic. Boldin will be here at least one more year. If he is not re-uped in the offseason next year, he'll probably be traded

He has to be traded for the things he said, has to be!!! That's was my whole point. I don't care when it happens, but I really don't believe we should give him the money because of future signings. He crossed the line with his comments and I don't management or the Head Coach will forgive him for it.

:lmao:

He absolutely does not have to be traded. Management and coaches can forgive and would. This is the NFL. Play on the field is all that matters bro.

Also how do you know that they need to forgive him? For all you or anyone else knows Q is telling the truth.

Shane: if you told the owner of your company he was a liar and then your boss get's involved and you tell him to mind his own business, what do you think would happen to you? You're fired!!! I'm sure both parties involved deserve blame, but some things just can't be fixed. Q wrote his own ticket out of town. And I'm sure this will not be the last team he goes on his public bashing, it's just the beginning.

You cant compare real life jobs and the NFL. You just cant. Things like this happen allt he time in pro sports and thing get mended all the time. What was said really dont mean a hill of beans in the long run.

Once again him calling them liars could be truth. if it is why would the owners feelings be hurt?

Not to poke holes in your analogy, but if you were the top producer of your company (ie best salesman), your boss may turn the other cheek. If Joe Schmoe intern does the same, he might as well kick himself out. Ive seen it happen in corporations before. Results are everything.

That reminds of that time when Jimmy Johnson was coaching Dallas and he cut a player for falling asleep during a meeting. A reporter asked him, "What if that had been Emmitt Smith?" Johnson just laughed. Hell, he was more likely to get Emmitt a blanket than he was to cut him.

I guess we will just have to disagree. Bet you some ASFN $$$ he will be traded by next season and his comments will be a major reason.

I know..And it said MAYBE the Raiders and the titans would be interested. How can anyone take this source serious?

I'm going by the fact that the hosts......Solomon and someone else whose name escapes me......took him and the rumor seriously.

Al Davis spent about 50 billion dollars this off season and gave Javon Walker a 55 million dollar deal. I doubt the old geezer has enough pie to satisfy Boldins craving

Can we trade him to Detroit for Williams? What do they care?

That would be a silly bet for me. Because if he is traded we would never know why he was traded. it could just be as simple as him and the Cards being miles apart on a contract and nothing to do with what was said. Or just getting an offer they can't refuse.

Unfortunately, money is the root of all evil in this case.

And you are absolutely correct that Q has become a cancer because of this. The persuasion tactics that these hard-nosed agents have is mind boggling. Of course, when you hire Rosenhaus to represent you, your objective is not to find someone who is going to be your best friend and do whats in your best interest, its about getting maxed out contracts.

He actually isnt as succesful in terms of overall dollars as people think. He just makes the headlines more then other agents. Most of his deal turn out to be hugely backloaded and hard to reach contracts, but all the media and the casual fans see's is the total amount of the deal instead of the actual structure and what the player will really make.
