If Ward gets a new deal soon then that should be the benchmark for Boldins contract, not Fitz contract. Not even Fitz deserves that conract but that is the nature of the draft, top 5 picks get way overpayed, and Boldin needs to realize that, if of course that is the contract he is looking for.
The problem in this debate is that we have no idea what Boldin is looking for and what the Cards are offering. There is really no side anyone can take on this until this info comes out.

Whether you like them or not a team just cannot continue to lose players the quality of Boldin, L.J., last years starting center,etc. I hope the Bodin situation is handled one way or the other with the Cards at least not losing this guy for little to nothing. This sends a bad message to potential FA's and your existing players and sure does not improve morale.
