That is not really what he said. He said that when he and Smith were talking at the pro bowl they were talking about the what if's and maybes. Lets keep it in perspective. That was when the contract issue started to raise it's ugly head. He did not indicate that this was working itself out behind the scenes or anything like that.

Correct! But then he went on to say how it started at the pro bowl and just talking about the what if's and maybes. Not sure how you took that, but I did not take that to mean a deal had been in the works. I tool it to mean he had been thinking about it and talking about it.

It sounds cold to read it........but I agree. He is no longer a Cardinal and wish him no harm, but I really haven't given him a second thought since the day he was traded.

Boldin was a god up until a few years ago. The last couple of years for the team have been the most successful and enjoyable time in recent history. A player like Boldin, who had to endure so many bad years prior should have been having the time of his lime the last couple of years and especially the during Superbowl run. Instead, he was sulking and selfish. His act over the last couple of years is when I soured about him as a person. It showed he really only cared about himself. Dockett has been in the same situation over the last couple of years but yet he is still passionate about the team and the fans.

Boldin was GOD and I still wish him all the best in Baltimore and I still like him as a player. But just like Favre's legacy in Green Bay has been tarnished, so has Boldin's here IMO.

I personally grew VERY tired of his behavior in the last couple of years. The team gave him a new contract to reward him of his services. The contract was very generous from the team's side in that situation. Only two years later Boldin was unhappy with his salary once again and decided to go public with his dissatisfaction.

Boldin always talked about being a man, but his actions the last couple of years looks more like the act of a big baby. Boldin played it safe because of his injury history and accepted the extension instead of becoming a FA. A real man would have accepted the situation that he put himself into.

In the future I will always have that in the back of my head when Boldin is mentioned. But that doesn't mean, that didn't I love routing for him as a played and what he brought to the team while he was here.

How did WE turn our backs on him? He is no longer a part of this team and say what you want but HE orchestrated his exit from here.

How soon some people forget the Cards tore up his rookie contract to make him happy. ANd he WAS happy until Superman (11) came along.
I understand the players position and thought process. They need to get every penny they can , AND THEY SHOULD! However, there is a way to do thatwithout alienating the fans and appearing to be a malcontent.

Darnell Dockett is the perfect example. He will be rewarded one way or another. But if he were gone next year ,we would be hating on MANAGEMENT because he is being a man's man about the situation. I didn't feel the same way about him when he sat out the ota's, but it appears he has learn to play the game...and he's doing it the right way.

1. If Docket deal isn't finalized by this time next year, he'll sit out - and he'll be loud as heck about it.

2. I won't say I lost respect for Q after the NFC championship game, but I never held him in the same reqard from that point forward as I prevously did. He went from selfless to selfish instantly, IMO. In my head, I keep picturing the difference between TSmith - crying on the sidelines, and Anquan - not sticking around for the celebration.

3. I'll always remember Q as one of my favorite AZ Cardinal players. A day will come where both he and the organization will need to get past their animosity. His name belongs in the Ring in Glendale. When the time comes for him to leave the game, a part of me hopes we do a sign and retire deal with us. Whereas AW talks about leaving a legacy, Anquan is going to have to settle for it here in AZ as I don't see a HOF induction for him, and Baltimore fans won't ever appreciate the Superman player he was here in AZ. That may not mean much to him now, but at some point in his life, I suspect it will.

Screw Boldin!!!! At a time that he should have been rejoicing in the franchise's greatest success, he was a whiny little .itch. I always hated the Ravens & now there is even more to hate. Do I want to see him do well? HELL NO!!! He's worst than dead to me. Dansby & Rolle are dead to me, but they didn't sit around & whine their last 2 years here.

Wow, so quick to turn your backs on a guy who gave his all for the Cardinals. If you do recall, he had a major hand in the turn around for the Cardinals here...without Boldin who knows where we'd be today. He brought us a positive attitude when we had none.

Yes, his days ended a little rough, and everyone remembers him walking out of the NFC championship game, and I think the Cards will be fine without him. But I don't get all the harsh talk about the guy...he was a warrior for the Cardinals and we were lucky to have him. I personally wish him the best in Baltimore...it's not like he was traded to San Francisco...

I have a slightly different take.

The spin after Q departed for Baltimore was that he'd singlehandedly turn their offense around.

I have a problem with that: Football is a team sport.

In Boldin, the Ravens gain a physical receiver, an inspirational leader and a terrific teammate who can help move the wind to the offense's back. But I don't think he will have quite the same impact as Ray Lewis has had both physically and inspirationally on the other side of the ball. In short - Boldin was a nice pickup that could help push them over the top, but he won't do that singlehandedly.

And it cuts 2 ways - In losing Boldin, the Cardinals lost a physical receiver etc. etc. etc., but it's not like his departure left the cupboard bare at WR (or other positions). Nor should we forget that, when he was sidelined, the Cardinals usually found ways to win anyway.

I feel badly that, in losing Boldin, we may have taken a step backward in the continued development of "Cardinal football" as we've known it. But at the same time, I don't think his departure was by any means "fatal" (& when you consider guys like Fitz, Dockett, Faneca and Joey P - & don't forget coaches like Wiz and Russ G) there are still a lot of leaders around who are able to move the franchise onward and upward.

I heard a snipit of an interview that he did on Sirius NFL Radio and the reporter asked him what was the biggest difference between his time in Arizona and now with Baltimore? His reponse was something to the effect that, the biggest difference was the passion of the team and the fans in Baltimore compared to AZ. To me, that is a slap in the face to all the people that adored this guy for so many years. That goes to show how much he really thought of us, it was basically all about the money.
