Good to hear... Another thread had him eating in the mess hall with no brace. Did they say anything else? Any test results?

Thank God, hopefully he'll be ready to go in a few days. I have had a knee lock up really painful, but eventually it gets better.

Too much of a leap of faith here. No brace doesn't necessarily equate with "ready to go in a few days."

We can hope, and promising news is better than bad news. But knees are tricky.

The few times I've screwed up my knee (minor ligament strains twice and cartilage once) the prescription was to "get the bleep off it", start off light with some quad work on a bike and come back gradually.

I'm no MD, but practicing the day after the knee was injured was not, in my opinion, the wisest thing to do. And coming back too soon after this second "wake up call" wouldn't be a wise thing either.

As a youngster in the 8th grade, I lost a fight with a car when I was riding my bicycle and screwed up my right knee. Afterward, if I bent it too far, some cartilage would pop into my knee socket and my knee would lock up. It would hurt like hell and I couldn't straighten my knee out until someone grabbed hold of it and pulled it straight out until the cartiledge popped out of the knee joint. That also was very painful. This used to happen on a fairly regular basis (once every 6 months) during my youth. I never did get it fixed. Anyway, after about a week, the knee would be as good as ever and as long as I didn't sit on my legs and lean back, I didn't have any pain or further problems.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise. Let Quan sit out of the rest of the Preseason and allow him to be healthy for the begining of the season.

Totally agree Jeff. Swelling should've been more of a warning flag. I don't want to hurt Jim O's feelings, but I did wonder at the time why they returned him to practice without getting an MRI first.

This is great news. They need to let him rest it. He doesnt need to play in pre-season as far as I am concerned.

Good to see you over here now crdnl85!!!! Cant wait to see you again in 2 weeks! Section 40 is going to rock again this year!

Expected news. I fully expected him to be in chow hall without cast and in decent shape. People wake up. It is Quan.

He did a quick scope of his knee, cleared it out and through some quick medical development work he has arranged to have himself back and ready to go with no pain or swelling.

Plus I heard they had meatloaf in chow hall and the meatloaf is the best...nobody misses meatloaf day unless they have a limb hanging off by a thread...and even then...

That's a good point cubbie.

I heard Quan can turn meatloaf into cartiledge in his digestive system, and his body can "sense" where it is needed, and sends the new tissue to the correct place.

The man continues to amaze.

Q

Quan will be ok. If he was having serious problems, they would have him off of his feet with absolutly no weight on it. In college Q had a reconstuctive knee surgery on his left knee. No cause for alarm, but he needs to sit out for a week to 10 days, IMO

Meatloaf was the special at my place of employment also. Now thats crazy.

This thread makes me feel better now, whew. I was scared of the Cards jinx, coming and ruining this season, with Boldin getting hurt, that would so suck

Nice.

My little Italian mother used to make "Meat Blobs". They were mini-meatloafs served with home made brown gravy. It was heaven......especially since you got your own mini meatloaf for yourselves and didn't have to fight off siblings. We know how ugly that can get.

Peace
