I'll share mine.
I was preparing for overseas deployment when I landed wrong during training.
I heard a "pop" and went down. Felt sick for a minute laying there. Then got up and tried to walk it off (I never had a major injury before this).
I limped back to the barracks and took some advil and slept till the next morning. At wake up I was suprised to see my knee had swollen a substantial amount. I also had a very bad limp and walking hurt. I went to sick call and the doctor scheduled an MRI. Three weeks later I got in for the procedure itself (and a lot of goofy walking around in the meantime) I recieved the news, Torn ACL and MCL, with miniscus (or however it's spelled) damage. The downside to this is I recieved the news after I had already gotten to the desert. So I had to wait two weeks for a flight back to the states.
Then I had to wait 3 months to get the damn operation!
THEN "something went wrong" and now I've got numb spots in my quad and it doesn't respond to much therapy, only electrical stimulation.
Knee injuries are a mother and Quan already has my admiration for being a professional athlete after going through some problems once.
Hopefully luck is with him and he can continue his promising career.
