The only thing I can point to at all was the feeling that Troy -- twice -- make comments of 'once the Cowboy's offense gets going you can't catch them' (when Dallas went up 14 - 7 in the third quarter) and something similar when Cowboys scored 10 points to tie and go into OT. It did imply that he thought the game was over.
To be fair, as a Cards fan, on both of those occasions I thought the game was over and that the Cowboys were going to win. And I hate the Cowboys. I don't take those comments as biased, or even necessarily inaccurate.

Oh, Aikman was definately biased. At the beginning of the broadcast, he said the only way the Cards could win was if they put pressure on Romo. Then pointed out how big the Dallas o-line was.

On that 3rd and 17 play, he said "they haven't converted a third down yet, and they probably won't now either."

Those are just 2 that I remember - there were more.

Great post... On top of Aikman referring to the Cowboys as "We" rather than "They" several times, he was pretty much pro-cowboys the entire game.

It's more than just a blatant bias, it's about the color commentary. Every single comment Troy made was either about what a proud franchise Dallas is, how good their o-line is, how great Romo is, or the reasons why they were clearly LOSING the game rather than why the Cardinals were WINNING the game.

It's ok though, the Cowboys are the NFL's most popular team, the Cardinals are probably one of the least popular.

If the Lakers are playing the Bobcats, I would expect the majority of the broadcast to focus on the Lakers.

Respect is earned not given, we'll get there eventually!

(hopefully this season!)

Go Cards!

I wish Dierdorf did more Cards games. Too bad he's on CBS.

Boomer lives in a glass house and shouldn't throw stones.

What, is he going to drive the bandwagon for us now? F that guy.

That would be a funny site.

Then you haven't been paying attention to Boomer the past 5 years or so.

:yeahthat:

The guy has been unable to hide his bitterness toward the Cards since he started commentating.

I actually agree with Boomer. Troy did sound biased. Sorry but true. Only time he spoke unbiasly (sp?) about the Cards was when there were glaring errors by the refs.

Everything negative about the Cowboys was an excuse. Everything positive about the Cowboys was like it was expected and how dare you think differently.

Everything negative about the Cardinals was like it was expected and how dare you expect them to be up to a challenge like the Cowboys. Everything positive about the Cardinals was clearly a mistake or miscue by the Cowboys and it won't last as the boys will figure it out.

do you really think this would have been different with ANYONE else? No one ever takes us seriously and they shouldn't UNITL we win games like we did on Sunday. I mean, were there any former Bear announcers on that MNF meltdown when they were consistently waiting for the bottom to fall out? No.

That is what I thought when I watched the game on DVR. He often seemed biased because he didn't do his homework on the Cardinals this season and obviously knows more about the Cowboys. He disagreed with the bad calls and complimented Warner at times but spent most of the game talking about the 'Boys.

as if this would be different than any other announcer. come on guys. coming into the season the Cowboys were the biggest story in the NFL and we were... the Cardinals.

this ain't rocket science.

I Tivo'd the Bills game and watched it later and Steve Burlein seemed really bitter towards the Cardinals too... They showed a clip of him playing for the Cards and he kinda acted like he didn't really remember... or maybe he was trying to be funny and just failed, haha

Very strange, Boomer came here to retire and was loved by the fans and Burlein went on to bigger and better things with Carolina so I dont know where all the bitterness comes from.
