Boris Diaw is completely worthless.

Time to say it: The Diaw signing was a complete waste of money. He is going to do nothing but put the Suns through financial hell in the near future. 9 million a year for 5 years. Can't wait. He brings nothing positive to the court anymore, and I'm beyond tired of watching him pass out of wide open layups.

What happened to the Boris of a few years ago? I remember him dominating in the playoffs. Well on his way to becoming a 15/7/5 player, at least.

7/4/3. Unbelievable.

I'd have to agree. I've been a huge Diaw fan but he's regressed significantly.

However, the lineup that D'Antoni started the 4th quarter with tonight was awesome. Barbosa, Hill, Marion, Diaw, Skinner. I'd love to see that lineup on the floor more when Nash is sitting.

I love Skinner with those guys he is everything that Diaw is not, Diaw's worth is only as a Point Center, where he can pass out too guys for three's, but him passing up lay ups too dish it out has gotten old as hell, Diaw has no worth at the 4,3,2 or 1 and he needs to be in the middle were Amare plays too get his dishes, thats why the Suns suck with the two playing together. What a waste of money. Atleast Suns have bargains in Hill and Skinner!!

Yep, Diaw signing was a mistake. We will have to figure out some way to get rid of him without losing the Atlanta pick, unless the pick is in 20's...

can the Suns just buy him out?
if so,
will that create some cap space to sign other free agents?

Diaw is hard to figure. Although he is costly, at least I know he is a big man in the Suns system that can get playing time and can contribute in many ways. The contract I would like the Suns to get rid of more is Marcus Banks. He is much cheaper than Diaw but his contract is a chunk of dead weight.

When everyone and their mother was saying how the team needed to lock him up. You win some, you lose some. The great GM Bryan Colangelo gave out nice contracts to Marbury, Penny, Googs, who else?

Oh, and "coach jackass" also signed Barbosa for a very, very team-friendly price.

I feel sorry for Banks though. It really seems like he's improved his attitude and has worked on his game but he still has to sit on the bench and watch a one-dimensional player like Pike get some run.

For the record, I was against this type of money. I thought it should have been half as much, when you consider he's success was in Amare's position.

Also, coach jackass found one nut with Barbosa... one nut.

Banks, Barbosa, Diaw all signings by the Great Dantoni

Seems his record is 1-2, which is unacceptable in Dantoni terms

I was never for the diaw extension.

Yeah its not like his skills have diminished since he signed with the suns. He's the same guy that signed that contract and now he's a bench warmer. As much as the Suns might regret signing him, I'm sure he regrets signing with the Suns much more.

Is it really necessary to call D'Antoni "Coach Jackass" with every post? Seriously...

i'll be the first to admit i was thrilled with the fact that we got diaw locked down for a few years, but 9 million seemed like far too much to me. i would have been happy with 7 a year for 3-4 years but not 9 a year for 5 years. that's a little bit out there for me. we just need to figure out how to get him back into things. i liked the lineup tonight to start the 4th, he did well in that situation. he was hitting his midrange shot well earlier in the year so maybe he could be of some value with getting bigs to go out on the perimeter and open things up for amare inside. who knows? coach d got him the deal, he needs to make sure diaw is earning it.

People in Atlanta were saying that Diaw was only playing well because of a contract year. It appears that was the truth. Diaw is not worth his contract. Enough is enough. How long do we have to hear D'Antoni defend this guy?

No, buying him out would save actual cash equal to the amount of whatever discount Diaw agreed to, but his salary would still be on the books for both the cap and the luxury tax.

DIAW=DONE

How many "chances" does this guy get to prove himself? Why does he get such preferential treatment over other players like Banks?

I realize they are at different skill levels and they play different positions, but come on! You payed a lot of money for each of them and at least Banks should be allowed to play and contribute in certain situations. I mean if they can "work" with Boris and play him , why not Banks?

I guess I am just frustrated that they paid so much money to both these guys and then don't demand they play more...
