Boris Diaw is completely worthless.

Diaw:
"I can't shoot without the ball. Other than that, it's the same. I won't be able to score as much. I won't be able to make plays, but it's OK. Other people make plays on the court."

Boris, can you shoot with the ball? That's all we ask.

How is Diaw supposed to improve if he doesn't understand what the problem is?

I love that part of the quote. Evidentally, he can't shoot when he has the ball either. If I see that guy pass up an open lane or pass out when he is 1 foot from the basket one more time...........

Yeah, its sick how he doesn't even realize the problem. I mean, how can we make any headway if the guy just dismisses it and says its OK. He freaking said its OK.

And passing when he has an open layup or when he even can draw a foul, its just disturbing. Yeah, disturbing.

Yes its disturbing when he passes out instead of going for the basket, but he was the same 2 years ago, I remember Nash complaining about his agressiveness or the lack of it back then.

Boris can still play, he showed it when Amare was out earlier this season, but as a backup he was rarely used the way he should have been. He gets the ball mostly on the perimeter, where he isnt an option, so I'm glad he doesnt take more shots. Granted, its easy to hate him, but his struggle has a lot to do with coaching.

There are many things Boris can be claimed for, and many things we can't. Boris has oppurtunities to take charge and make plays. We see Barbosa taking a lot of shots. Why doesn't Diaw? I don't understand why he doesn't see that he needs to PROVE that he can play. Right now, Mike isn't feeling that great about him.

Asking him to PROOVE he could play is definitely the wrong approach to get him aggressive. It's the attitude that he thought that being passive and letting LB and Raja or whoever were standing around shoot the ball served the team better. Only when his manhood was challenged by the opponents like in the Utah game with Harpring jumping over him and pushing, would he want to PROOVE his manhood on his own, it looks. Well, we just need to assign him to aggressive players on the other team to kind of rub it off on him!:D

When we first got Diaw off the Hawks they complained about the same thing from the guy....Diaw is only aggressive when he wants to be and not near enough for anyones liking. Hawks fans talked about how aggressive Diaw was in some Euro tourney and wondered why in heck he cant play like that for them on a consistant basis. I kind of blew it off after we got him when he was lighting it up for us but its all coming back to me after seeing his passive play over and over.

I've been one of Diaws biggest supporters but I just dont see light at the end of the tunnel with him anymore. He's got the talent but something is holding him back....he just doesnt have the drive to put it all out there every night. Yeah we're going to see good games out of him once in a while...just enough to tantelize (sp?) us and keep us hoping...for naught.

Put a fork in him boys...he's DONE.

Maybe Boris needs to be reamed out publicly while he is on the court by his own players/coaches when he becomes too passive. I don't like this approach but if he needs a fire lit under him so be it. I don't think the Suns should wait for an opponent to do the job. Boris has had enough time to develop his confidence and learn when to be assertive. No more laissez faire for Boris.

you can't coach aggresiveness.
But a coach can build confidence. It's hard to be aggressive without that.

Mike D'Antoni exhibits the same traits as John MacLeod did when he coached the Suns.

Each player must confine his skills to the coach's style, rather than the coach recognizing and allowing each player to utilitze his best skills.

It takes more work on the part of the coach, but the great ones do it.

A coach can HELP build confidence. He cannot do it alone. Ultimately it's up to the individual to motivate himself and drive himself to improve or it doesn't matter who your coach is.

Diaw's problem is not coach D'Antoni. Diaw's problem is Diaw.

Totally agree. It's not as if D'Antoni is stunting Diaw's confidence by not giving him enough burn. He gives him every opportunity and Diaw still won't capitalize. Mental toughness cannot be taught.

FSN ran a piece on Diaw today before the hornets game criticizing his performance this season. I was in a bar and the tv was muted so I didn't get any specifics.

Good to know we aren't thinking in a vacuum here and even the sports analysts are getting on him.
