I never bothered posting it, but I knew this was exactly what they are going to do. Suns go for 5/40, Diaw wanted 5/50, and the Suns would offer 5/45 when time was running out. Great news! He's going to be a star

For the first time in a long time the Suns seem to have all the main pieces under contract for a good run. Considering our talent, this team has a legit chance to be real special. Can't wait.

They could have used it to draft Sefolosha if they were intrested in trading it.

This pick may be as high as #4.

If the player they want is gone at #4 they'll either trade the pick for a future pick or sell it for cash.

Next years draft is so deep they'll have several guys they like on the board when that Hawks pick is up. This past year in a weaker draft they had a guy targeted at 17 they would have taken if they could have moved up.

This is great news. The Suns needed to extend Barbosa and Diaw this off season and they apparently have got it done. They are young talent on the way up.

I think what we are seeing from D'Antoni, is that he prefers young, more polished players whether it be from college or another team. If the Suns can draft that talent fine. If not, I think D'Antoni will not hesitate to trade for the player(s) he wants. I cannot argue with this philosphy as the NBA Draft is often a crabshoot.

I enjoy watching the NBA Draft but IMO, I think Suns' fans may soon have to realize that D'Antoni seems to have little tolerance for project or unskilled players.

PASS THE CROW HERE!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome, awesome, awesome news - AND it's cheaper than what I thought it would take to get it done.

The offseason has been an UNIMITIGATED SUCCESS and I now believe that Sarver has not only learned his lesson from the JJ experience, but is willing to make the moves necssary to win a title. I will no longer call him cheap - point, blank PERIOD.

This move goes A LONG WAY - HELL - ALL THE WAY - towards making me believe that at least Phoenix STILL has at least ONE owner who will do what it takes to put a winner on the court/field.

Great, great, great, great news.

The best thing about this as well is this - we don't have to be REACTIVE next season - we can control what we'll have to do, be it trades or whatever to continue winning or rebuilding. We hold all the cards now.

AWESOME NEWS.

HUGE KUDOS TO SARVER AND DA.

P.S. - Chap - we had the discussion a couple weeks ago about there being some people who ALWAYS complain, no matter what happens and you were right and I was wrong - even here people are complaining - there are just some people who will never be happy. I didn't think that would be the case and am mystified by some of the responses.

Does this mean you, Ouchie and myself can probably catch a game or three this season? :D

we could have done that anyway Chap! Just because we get into SERIOUSLY heated convos here, doesn't mean I don't think you're not passionate AND intelligent and if you're both of those things, I've got no problem with you in principle!

the only people who I'd never have a beer with and watch a game with are the truly unintelligent guys who are obviously on their third divorce and in anger management classes two times a week. we all know who those people are - most of them post on another board here and are pretty delusional.

We should definitely try to get togther to catch a game or two this season - hell, I think you, me, Ouchie and E and anyone in the LA area should try to get together for a Clippers/Lakers game and bring hell to the Staples Center. THAT would be frightening.

This has nothing to do with me, but I've read this three times, and I'm still not sure if you think Chap is intelligent or not. :D

Actually, I think you're saying he's not passionate nor intelligent. :)

Great news, and great to see some of the sarver haters out there changing their opinions.

Look I was as pissed as anybody about JJ, but looking objectively at all the moves I realized Sarver clearly deserved the benefit of the doubt. I gave him until the deadline to see what happened with boris, and told everyone to come down about the reports, it was posturing. And Sarver came through in a big way.

Not only that but he has set this franchise up for the present and future as well as it has ever been set up. The Colangelo's never did that, and during the 90's bryan actually did the reverse. Damn, if Amare was 100% healthy we would be set up for a 7/8 year run as well as any team in the last 7/8 years.

P.S.: I am worried about the Atlanta pick, because Atlanta looks like they're really gonna suck. I want that pick next year, there could be 4/5 players that could be franchise players (along with oden, there are some other high school studs).
