18 ppg/ 6 rb/ 6 ast on 52% from the field and 75% from the line

in playoff rankings, for per game totals, that puts him

#10 in league in assists
#29 in league in points
#29 in league in rebounds
#13 in league in fg%

the only one in the league who is better in all 3 categories is lebron (2 in scoring, 8 in assists, 12 in rebounds, 28 in fg%)

in terms of raw totals, only 5 guys have scored more in the playoffs, only 2 have handed out more assists, only 7 have more rebounds.

by the way, in scottie pippen in 1991 (first championship year) averaged
18 ppg/ 7 rb/ 6 ast on 52% from the field and 71% from the line
this was his 4th season at the age of 25. scottie also put up 22ppg/9rb/6ast in the playoffs that year.

And it's only the first year in the league that an organisation give him room to play his way and the comparison with pippen is from the years he plays in france for Pau-orthez. Unselfishness going with the ability to bring whatever the team need.

Pippen in his prime was definitely more athletic and a much better perimeter defender. But Diaw seems to have better court vision and better paint defender already at this young age of 23.

I heard someone saying that he has scored more points in these playoffs than he did ALL LAST YEAR with the Hawks. Amazing!

BTW, Welcome Stewart! Where in France are you? Ollie is our resident Franco-phile! :)

Agreed, Pippen was faster and had more hops. Pippen also was a better finisher especially on the break, but ... Boris is a better passer, ball handler, interior defender, low post offensive player, and his vision is certainly -NOW at 23 yrs old- better than Pippens ever was. Boris' asst/TO ratio was 2.66 this year, while pippens best year was 2.25(91 champs), showing how Boris takes better care of the ball. The incredible part is that he still is improving rapidly in these playoffs. His finishing at the rim is getting better and his shot is looking smoother all the time. At this rate, Boris is an all star in 2 years. Hopefully Boris will sign a long term deal with the suns as the suns offense allows him to fully utilize his skills.

Last year in atlanta he scored 314 pts in 66 games and 1201 minutes.
In 18 playoff games he scored 328 pts in 718 minutes.

This is a progression from 12.5 to 21.9 pts per 48 minutes.
In its first season he scored 8.5 pp48m (1900 minutes played).

Boris progression is amazing but IMO we all exagerate how bad he was last year.
His coach didn't know how to use him and didn't try to develop him,
but his number per 48 were decent (12.5/6/6.7).

Maybe we should have imagine how good he could become here.
