I got home and CBS was showing the end of the Charger game against the Ravens. Down 24-10 Brees aired one out to Boston about 35 yards into coverage in the endzone. As a defender leaped, Boston was ducking to avoid a safety coming over. The defender tipped the ball straight up, and another one dove in and picked it, while Boston stood there watching, more afraid of getting hit than going after the ball.

The announcers really lit him up called him out, could have been a deflection TD if he'd been watching the ball instead of avoiding contact. They showed Marty and he was VISIBLY pissed. I wouldn't be surprised if they're looking to trade him right now (-:

Yeah but I don't think anyone would trade for him - SD is stuck w/ him ;)

Yup, 3rd week in a row with less yards than Anquan "Big Bang" Boldin.

True but you HAVE to see this play to believe it he's so afraid of getting hit he doesn't even know the ball is 2 feet away from him up in the air ready for someone to catch it. I would imagine he's going to be seen as the next Leaf in San Diego if this stuff continues.

I thougt he was so big DB's were scared of him, remember? He said he's so much bigger it's ridiculous and no one can tackle him. the 260lb reciever was scared of a DB that probably weighs about 70 lbs less than him.

a cornerback for one of the 1st two teams they played (chargers 1st or 2nd game) ..cornerback for the other team was quoted as saying something to the effect that - yea - he is big - but he is also slow - no way he runs a 4.4 anymore - he likened guarding boston to covering a tight end or fullback. Cannot find quote - but I read it after the 1st of second charger game this season..dback made comments that would surely piss off boston..

Carefull, you don't want to rouse a sleeping.......

housecat.

We have 2 (two, dos, more than 1, II, this many: **) ROOKIE recievers averaging more catches and ypg (Johnson is 2 ypg less, but was 4th WR in first game w/no rec) than Boston. I thought it was a mistake this offseason but I couldn't be happier now.

Eric Warfield of the Chiefs, he said he hears about the 4.4 stuff but "I didn't see it". He said Boston beat him off the line a few times but he was able to recover easily and "I'm not a 4.4 guy". He said Boston is too big and has lost speed, it could be the heel of course.

Not only that, but what about his $100,000 reward for any DB that could tackle him after the catch?

Or is Mr. Boston just trying to let us forget that?

Maybe he got a prince albert...that would explain not being very fast lately. Kinda tender.

Where is the place you would least like to be stabbed by a little needle? That'll give you an idea without getting too graphic.

FYI the San Diego Union Trib has a nice glowing article about how well he played, how hard he played. Marty even said something nice about him. NO mention of the play. So I emailed the author and he said he assumed that play is why Boston refused to talk to reporters after the game(he hasn't been talking anyways).
