I was just thinking(I know, my wife warns me against that)..... Are we a better team today than we were the day after we lost these two? Was Boston not needed as much because we want a smash mouth running game? And if we are becoming a run oriented team, isn't it strange to have an X-WR coach as our new OC?

On paper we are way weaker at WR but stronger at QB

I think we can't answer this until training camp

As I see it Blake is the PERFECT QB for what we want to do. Let's face it our OL is huge, Shipp is a power guy with vision, Hodgins is huge, it's pretty clear we want to use that OL and running game to wear people down.

This means we expect teams to bring their safeties up. Now you want a QB who can throw the deep ball so that in single coverage your WR's can burn them, enter Jeff Blake. Now it'd be great if Boston was one of those guys but that ship has sailed so it's going to be Mcaddley, Gilmore, and who knows who else.

The more I think about it Andre Johnson if we can't get Suggs or Leftwich makes a whole lot of sense, speed guy all you gotta do is ask him to go deep against man to man coverage now and then.

I say that we move up to grab Charles Rogers, either with draft picks or by trading L J Shelton to the Bengals. Yes I know that Shelton is a pretty good player who is young, but we have another one of those and his name is Leonard Davis who we will eventually move to tackle. Yes, he would need to slim down to regain some of his mobility, but he is more talented than Shelton.

Rogers would give us a legitimate number one wide receiver who will have an impact this year and we will have cut costs on our o-line. Just a thought.

Let's forget about Plummer/Boston they are now gone!!!

We now have Jeff Blake who can throw the ball down field and a true blocking Fullback. We also hae a young by years in age for the defensive secondary. Jackson, Barrett, Wilson. Things just may be starting to looking up for us Cardinals fans.

Now let's sign Hoilday, and one more run stopper. then we are almost there.

Yes we are young at WR. but these guys could blossem under jerry S.

Go Cardinals.

There's some merit there as Shelton is in the last year of his contract too.

He's not a great run blocker either so maybe going with more run blockers is the way to go but I think it weakens our OL depth a bit. If we can get Faine in the draft so we don't have to move kendall you can sure solve some of the depth stuff.

I love Rogers too he's a better player than Johnson even if he's not 6'4".

Well I agree, I just feel we are a better team now than when they were here and wondered if anyone agreed.
