22 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists.

Wow...who'da thunk it 2 years ago.

Then again, it was against the centre-less Magic. Not the best team in the league

i did, and still think that he isnt worth the money he is getting or that he would be the best answer for the suns as a center.

I never said Brad Miller wouldn't be a nice Center for the Phoenix Suns. I said he was overpaid. Besides, if you think Miller wouldn't be putting up numbers like that in Frank Johnson's offensive system... or lack thereof... your nuts.

Was there ever any reason to imagine the Suns could have gotten Brad Miller considering they were already well into the luxury tax salary level?

Exactly. The Sacramento Kings were also in the luxury tax salary level, but they paid for Brad Miller anyways. Some people here were thinking that the Colangelos could have done the same. I have no problem with an owner wanting to avoid the luxury tax, especially when that owner feels his team is a couple years away from competing for a championship.

Actually the Kings did a substantial salary dump this summer. They let Jimmy Jackson go without even a veteran minimum offer and unloaded Keon Clark to name just two. Most analysts think the Kings have a lot less depth than in previous years because of their need to dump salaries.

Jim Jackson, what a salary dumb. He didn't get more than the veteran minimum anyway.

Joe, maybe Miller wouldn't be as good on the Suns or maybe he would.
He would definately make the Suns offense much better first of all.

Yes, you are probably correct. However I did not expect the Colangelos to spend his salary & the luxury tax to get him.

The Brad Miller trade was very complicated. In a three-team trade: Indiana re-signs Brad Miller and trades him to Sacramento while acquiring Scot Pollard from the Kings and Danny Ferry from San Antonio; the Spurs acquire Hedo Turkoglu from Sacramento and Ron Mercer from Indiana.

To achieve salary cap balance this year:

Miller gets $7,000,000

Turkoglu makes $1,995,611
Pollard makes $5,309, 563

Did the Suns have $7 million in expendible players like Turkoglu and Pollard with good trade value? I doubt it.
