As
@TomPelissero
and I discussed on TV, the word among teams interested in Tom Brady were among the impression that Brady wanted to bring Antonio Brown with him to a new team. Brown is still under investigation, and remains to be seen when he can play. But Brady is close with him

Wow. Now THAT is interesting. Hitching his wagon to someone who clearly needs a lot of help

If I were TB...I would go after Kareem Hunt.

That offense would be unstoppable.

Many stories about the reason Tommy left N E for Tampa. Storyline I go with is mine;

Tommy felt underappreciated by salary structure at N E and he was shortchanged. Tampa Bay gave him $ 30mm /year in a state income tax free Florida rather than California. With his and the wifey's salaries and a Florida residence it was all about the money as it always is. Greed ... yup but that is how the world works. Never enough. I suspect a scenario where he and Tampa aren't going to get a ring. Happy life Tommy.

I don’t think state tax was the reason for a guy worth 180 million already and has given his former team multiple hometown discounts over the career. Add in the 400 million his wife is already worth. I really don’t think state tax is gonna be an all swaying decision. Call me crazy.

Overview of California taxes
California’s state income tax rates range from 1 percent to 12.3 percent. The Golden State also assesses a 1 percent surcharge on taxable incomes of $1 million or more. More on California taxes can be found below.

Personal income tax
California collects income tax from its residents at the following rates.

For single and married/registered domestic partners filing separately:

  • 1 percent on the first $8,544 of taxable income
  • 2 percent on taxable income between $8,545 and $20,255
  • 4 percent on taxable income between $20,256 and $31,969
  • 6 percent on taxable income between $31,970 and $44,377
  • 8 percent on taxable income between $44,378 and $56,085
  • 9.3 percent on taxable income between $56,086 and $286,492
  • 10.3 percent on taxable income between $286,493 and $343,788
  • 11.3 percent on taxable income between $343,789 and $572,980
  • 12.3 percent on taxable income of $572,981 and above
A 1 percent surcharge, the mental health services tax, is collected on taxable incomes of $1 million or more, making California’s highest marginal rate 13.3 percent.

Florida income tax

Florida Taxes — A Quick Look. There is no personal income tax in Florida. Florida Sales Tax: Florida sales tax rate is 6%. Florida State Tax: Florida does not have a state income tax. Florida Corporate Income Tax: Corporations that do business and earn income in Florida must file a corporate income tax return (unless they are exempt).

Florida is expecting an influx of 1,000,000 new residents each year for the next 10 years, most of whom are chasing tax relief.

L A Chargers or Tampa Bay Bucs? He's got maybe 2 years left in career and TB12 afterwards. Talk to his accountant and get back to this post. :shocker:

That’s great. Still not buying it. He shown that he has no problem leaving money on the table. He already Uber Uber Uber rich. I’m willing to bet geographic location to the east coast is what was the deciding factor.

Funny thing about rich people is it's never enough and they don't give it away.

New England's incredible success will naturally have many wanting Brady to fail. I suspect he will be a solid QB, but whether that will be enough for Tampa Bay to win the Super Bowl is another issue. A lot will depend on the improvements they can make in the players around him....and it is a short window.

Jarrett Stidham next man up.

https://www.nbcsports.com/boston/pa...rrett-stidham-their-future-qb-after-tom-brady

"I think that the Patriots realized that," he said, "it's time for them to get on with their future, which is Jarrett Stidham. I think it's time for them to change what they do offensively around a younger, mobile, multi-dimensional player in terms of footwork, and stay away from the intellectual type that they've had."

That's strong commentary on a player who was selected in the fourth round — not typically where faces of franchises are plucked — of last year's draft out of Auburn. But the Patriots have yet to make a move in free agency for a veteran passer, and unless they swing a deal for a starting-caliber player, their inaction would serve as a tacit acknowledgement that Stidham is believed to be a real option to start in 2020.

They aren't tanking. Belichick said back in 2014, after drafting Jimmy Garoppolo, that he didn't want to be the Colts when they lost Peyton Manning.

I have to agree, Hunt would be his new Edelman. Browns put a second round tender on Hunt. With Godwin and Evans on the outside the offense would be amazing. I think Brady would make good use of Howard too.

The "jock tax" will only save him from games in Tampa.

Even though the state of Texas did not have an income tax, he still had to pay the various state income taxes applied to each away game in each location except for Florida, Illinois, Washington state, and Washington, D.C. (as an American League player, he would visit the three states every season). It is estimated that Rodriguez paid $520,000 a year for state income taxes outside his own state.

Since word surfaced that Tom Brady is expected to land in Tampa, an unexpected high number of players have reached out to the Buccaneers to let them know they want to join the former Patriots’ QB there, per league sources.

One issue for the #Bucs and Tom Brady — same issue most FAs are having — teams can’t send a private plane to pick him up & take him to the facility. Or off-site. It’s not allowed. And they can’t travel to see him. So getting a physical with a doctor everyone agrees on is tricky.
