This type of thing used to be the 'Kiss o' Death' for the SOC. A backup QB would go off for, like 500 yds and 5 TDs...ect. Happened in Pittsburgh last year. This time, I hope not.

Sad , I was hoping to have a statement game for us by beating them opening day with Brady at QB . Now the talking heads have their baked in excuse of how the Pats would have won if only they had Brady .

Statement game moniker is overrated. Who cares what the talking heads have to say? You take the better chance of being 1-0 to start the season any day.

Wanted to see the Cards beat the best, but will still be happy to not see Brady out there late in the 4th qtr, if the game was close. But, just like MrYeahBut, it scares me too because of the backup Qb's seem to always find ways to carve up the Cards D

Hopefully, since we can game plan for Garapolololo, the usual back-up malaise will not hit us this time.

Agree. Plus, I don't think this will be a D that will be giving up a lot. Especially to a back up in week 1

He could appeal this all the way to the Supreme Court. With the way that he has fought this, I think that is a real possibility. If he does fight it to the Supreme Court, they do not go back into session until October probably, and that is assuming they hear the case first thing.

This isn't over yet.

He would have to get an injunction from a higher court first. If not, he would have to sit out regardless.

I see Brady asking for it at the very least. He definitely doesn't like to lose.

1. He could still take his case to the Supreme Court.
2. Anyone who thinks the Patriots' game minus Brady will be easy

If the NFLPA has its way---Brady will appeal to the Supreme Court. Any possible way to fight Goodell's tyrannical power over disciplinary decision-making will be exacted.

Only two things could prevent it: (1) Goodell jumps in and offers a reduced suspension wherein Brady has to concede some sort of culpability (which neither has been willing to do all along); (2) Bob Kraft feels that the Patriots have had enough and does not want this situation to linger yet again for another whole year.

Either way---Game 1 versus the Patriots purports to be a tooth and nail dogfight. If Jimmy Garrapollo is starting, BA will be quick to remind his guys how Landry Jones whipped their butts last year. It would be surprising if by the time BA has readied them for this game that any Cardinal is going to feel like this game is going to easier to win without Brady. regardless, if I were a betting man, I would bet that Tom Brady will be playing. At this point I am still counting on it.

Outside of the Super Bowls, has anyone ever seen him play in person in AZ?

Good question. I think I remember a game with NE back at Sun Devil Stadium but I can't even remember who was the QB. Has Brady & NE played the Cards in a regular season game at UofP? I don't recall. I do remember Manning and the Colts playing us at UofP (I think we got killed). But don't remember Brady.

This peaked my interest, so I went back and looked. It was Brady at QB when NE played us at Sun Devil Stadium back in 2004. I know I was there and just didn't remember Brady being the QB.

I was looking forward to absolute madness inside the stadium with fans rabid to see Brady eaten for lunch. I am sure it is still going to be electric with all the hype and excitement created by All or Nothing but not as wild as it could have been. Really wanted to see an epic Brady beatdown.

UofP opened in 2006. In 2008, we played NE Week 16 in the snow game in which Warner and co. got eviscerated.

Brady cheated and thought he got away with it. Then he turned around and destroyed evidence and lied about it.

The classy ones in the whole debacle is Indy. They didn't whine one bit and paybacks will happen eventually.

Difference is, the Cards will have time to prepare for Garoppolo. We didn't have time to prepare for Landry Jones but were prepared for Mike Vick and pretty much contained him.

And Cory Dillion treated us like a red headed step child. 158 yards rushing.

NFW the Supreme Court agrees to hear the case.

Wait.. After witnessing what just happened (well, didn't happen) with Billary, nothing would surprise me.

I remember Cam Newton's first game in 2011, in our house on opening day. Lit up the Cards D for 400+ yards. Somehow the Cards survived that game, but man, he was en fuego that day. Don't want to see a repeat of that performance with Jimmy G.

Jimmy isn't Cam, and our defense is 5x more talented than 2011 Week 1's defense.
