Not trying to be arguementative but...

1) Neither guy held out.

2) It would have been impossible for the Texans to sign Ryans before Williams.

I remember 2-3 years ago there being a 3rd round pick that held out for fewer years (I think?). But it's exceedingly rare for non-first round picks to hold out.

You were talking about holdouts. To be a hold out, camp would have to of started. What does a 1st rounder signing before a 2nd rounder have to do with holdouts? You are talking about two different things here. So clarify, Are you talking about a 2nd or 3rd rounder being a holdout like you stated, or did you mean that you think our 2nd or 3rd rounder would sign after our 1st rounder. Two completely different things.

It happened maybe once ever other year before the new CBA. Most of those were issues due to that team no handling their rookie cap correctly thus they didnt have enough rookie cap left over to slot their 2nd or 3rd rounder. So they had to be super creative to in getting it done since they couldnt slot their guy or they were fighting over years. But since the creation of the new CBA there is now caps on years that you can offer depending on where you are drafted and some other rules that dont allow for as much years haggling and for a team to overuse their rookie cap putting themselves in a bind.

I seem to remember there was one guy the Cards drafted years ago in a later round, maybe Mike Foley in '96 (6th rd), that held out for more money. Pretty sure the idiot never played in the NFL.

Yeah, his name was Mike Hand. He didn't really want to play NFL football. That was a gaffe by the scouts.

My fault.

I didn't mean hold out as in not being there for camp's first day. I just meant that I thought we might sign DRC before one or both of the other two. The more I think about it though, considering Graves, the more confident I am DRC will be late to camp. With Dansby, Boldin and Dockett in his ear, he likely hasn't even begun to think about Nique yet. God only knows how long this one could take.
