It's like ordering a beef Wellington, being told that it's the specialty of the house and the Chef's signature dish, having it brought to the table 45 minutes later perfectly browned...

...then cutting it open and finding a steaming turd.

The only players Chris Long has ever looked like and NFL player against have been Levi Brown and Brandon Keith. Brandon Keith is making Chris Long look like Mario Williams.

I'm no expert, but he hasn't looked great to me. The Cards have had a long line of great tackles and I'm afraid he'll break the chain. :sarcasm:

Please fire Grimm or get better offensive line scouts.

LJ Shelton, Cameron Spikes, Anthony Clement.....worth waiting for?

At least these guys showed something to earn their salaries, and started for other NFL teams after they were released here. Brandon Keith does not look like he's better than Jeremy Bridges now. They've essentially stopped even running to his side of the field he's been so bad.

He is bad. Hope he will get better. Thank god that we don't have a ton of holes and, worse case, we can draft a tackle in the first round next year.

The only good tackle we've had was Mike Gandy. In the playoffs until we hit the superbowl in 2008 he was stopping every pass rusher we saw single-handedly.

yeah, I have NO clue why Bridges (an average T... probably at best) was demoted for a HORRIFIC T, without there even being competition.

Bridges shut down #69 from Minnesota last year. Had him pissed the whole game.

in the bigger picture:

The good news is that the Cards really only need three positions addressed to be a real contender.

The bad news is that they are the three positions hardest to find: Qb, pass rusher, and offensive tackle (and possibly two of those)

Edit: I think I misread your post... I think you implied sarcasm with that... my bad.

Yeah, with our O-line right now, we need both tackle positions filled. Not a good thing heading into the season! Maybe Brown pulls it together, and maybe Keith settles into the position, and maybe either Faneca pulls it together or Hadnot comes in to save the day...but that's a heck of a lot of maybes!

I'll reserve judgment for a couple more weeks, but he hasn't looked promising.

The FO needs to start investing in the O-line. Outside of Levi, Herman Johnson is the highest drafted O-lineman in Whis' tenure, and he isn't even on the active roster. Castoffs like Faneca won't help too much, either.

I have b een critical of the offensive line so far. They really stink. When i watch them, they look like they are trying to run in wet cement. I wonder if they are too heavy and could lose 20 or so pounds. They just look really slow. One more thing I noticed in the game. The Rams were really keying on Faneca's blocks. The reason some of the plays to the left were so successful is that he pulled and cut off the back side pursuit and the defensive lineman over him followed him. Thus he was really out of position for the play.

At this rate, it looks like the line can only hold off the 49ers.

If Logan Mankins can play LG, I hope that we have offered a 3rd rounder to the Pats for him. Good guard play can really help the consistency of an o line.

I can't believe all the complaining. WE WON!!!!! Can't we at least enjoy that for a couple of hours before we get back to our grousing and wanting to get rid of almost every team member? The sign of a good team is garnering a win even when you play lousy.

This reminds me of when Warner won the starting role and every time he had a bad game, there were cries of "Off with his head". It's a good thing Whis doesn't listen to this board.

No because we don't play the little sisters of the poor next Sunday in Atlanta like we did today in St. Louis.

What I would like to see though is you post something different from what you have been posting for the last 3 years. You know like actually discuss some nuance of the game that week. Like how successful we were running the sweep/slants with LSH :D

Mike gandy is only 31 years old and out of the league. In my view..he would be an upgrade over Keith - either he or bridges. I have no clue why we are in such a rush to start the brandon keith experiment. Get gandy back for two more years...he still lives in scottsdale. In case you were wondering - faneca is 3 years old than Gandy. I think.

My 2nd personnel beef is that there has to be a better backup to doucet instead of komar. Given doucet's injury history...I do not understand..why we dont bring in a vet if we do not have an adequate slot backup on the roster.

Well I'm sure the coach will pay as much attention to my thoughts as he does to all the others on here.:p

Besides, one game does not a season make. Let's give them a few games before we bring in the executioner.

Keith is bad but Gandy also struggled to block anything last year.

Whiz and Grimm need to go the Jets route next year and draft a tackle and a guard with their first two picks. The offensive line is a complete failure and isn't going to inspire confidence in whoever our QBOTF is.

Well now I understand why you post the same thing every week year after year. We post on here to discuss football with each other not with the Cardinal front office or the coaches.
