No. 2 Brandon Valley defeated No. 3 Harrisburg in Friday's South Dakota boys state basketball semifinals, 46-31, to advance to the championship game and set up a rematch of last year's title game against Mitchell.

Senior guard Landon Dulaney led the Lynx in scoring with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists. Brandon Valley had two players score in double digits.

The Lynx created some separation in the final minutes of the first quarter, scoring the final five points of the first frame. They also scored the first three points of the second quarter to complete an 8-0 run before Harrisburg could respond.

The Tigers kept pace with the Lynx in the second quarter, matching them with nine points.

Brandon Valley did a great job creating contact on their drives to the rim and then converting their shots from the free-throw line in the first half. The Lynx made 7-of-9 first-half free throw attempts while Harrisburg made only 2-of-8 attempts from the charity stripe. While both teams forced six turnovers, Brandon Valley was also plus four in the points off tthe urnover margin.

Dulaney scored a team-high 10 points at the halfway mark and also had seven rebounds and three assists. The Tigers were led by Stellan Larson who ended the game with 18 points.

The third quarter went as well as it could’ve gone for Brandon Valley. The Lynx opened on a 7-0 run and closed it with a 6-0 run. They outscored Harrisburg by 10 in total in the third.
