Just announced that they will listen to trade offers.

I really don't have an opinion. If you could get 4-6 good years out of him, I might dange a 3rd and one of our 6ths.

As I have previously posted, his QB coach at Cleveland, Mark Whipple, loves Weeden and thinks he can be very good, especially if he plays in a system that maximizes his strengths.

Whipple is a sharp guy---BA knows him well.

I think Weeden is a good fit. I trust Whip.

Mitch, thanks for the feedback. I didn't see Weeden in your "Best Fits" thread, so where would you put Weeden on that list?

Weeden does not have a age problem because it is more about the amount of years taking hits. He started late and he is not a runningback. The question is more of how good of a QB is he.

I didn't realize until today that the Browns are serious about trading him. They probably will be trading their 4th rounder for Alex Smith---at that point I would give them a 4th rounder for Weeden. They probably would take it is my guess, even though they spent a 1st on him last year.

What I like too is that he's had a year of starting under his belt and now he gets to play for coaches who will know how to cater the offense to his strengths. The big thing is, he can drive the ball deep---his arm is made for this offense.

I always liked him and thought the Browns were smart taking him last year. To be able to get him for a mid-round pick is a no lose situation. If nothing else, you have a very good back up who can still develop. I hope we get him. I like that much more than getting Smith.

Brady Quinn, Colt McCoy, and Brandon Weedon. Two first round picks and a 3rd and they give up on all 3 in a declining progression. Quinn 3 seasons, McCoy 2 seasons and Weedon 1 season.

The Browns are the Cardinals of the AFC. They've even been 5-11 three of the last four seasons. If it hadn't been for a 4th quarter fumble vs the Cards it would have been 4 straight at 5-11.

Give me Colt McCoy over Weeden anyday, 7 days a week :D

I still say he's a better option than any QB on our roster & Matt Moore or Stanton too.

I didn't think Weeeden was all that bad as the season progressed. If he was in this year's draft, he'd be in the mix for the top QB. I would take a flyer on him. I'd rather him than Drew Stanton or Brian Hoyer calling the shots. At least there's some upside with Weeden.
