CBus, I think so. Would have liked to have had him on the Cards, though I know there are character issues. Still concerned about our #2 WR and will be watching to see if ED can put back-to-back strong games together. Also, hoping that DeMarco Sampson gets an increased role in the game plan.

Wow. Yeah that does make sense.

15 million guaranteed though? I am glad we didn't do that.

Would rather have had Lee Evans for a 4th rounder.

The good news is if he has a good year and shows he can not be a knucklehead, he can still come get that money next year.

If the Cardinals did offer that much, I know it was with keeping Larry in mind (and Larry was a big proponent of bringing him in) but he signed anyway.

Alls well that ends well.

That information will become public and we'll know soon enough.

I would venture to guess it was the Cards. IIRC, people like John Clayton and others were reporting that him signing with AZ was "imminent." To be honest, I was shocked when he signed with the 49ers as I believed the deal to bring him here was a "slam dunk."

The crazy part is he has a good shot at winning that case, and may end up getting paid anyways. Too bad it is with a loser of a team.

15 mill guaranteed would have been a lot of cheddar for Braylon. Makes me think maybe it wasn't us.

too bad though... pairing him opposite Fitz, with our TE and 3 and 4 WRs would have been just scary as hell.

So some stole Braylon's phone, tweeted that "sh-- was about to go down", he was directly named by the employees of the place, and in the end, it was all just an elaborate plot to get him to pay them some money.

I'm on board.

Yikes, that's a big difference between $15M guaranteed to a one year 3.5M contract. Who were we negotiating against Braylon's posse?

If it was the Card's then I'm hoping it was at least a 5 yr deal with 15 million guaranteed...

Dont know why some of you are saying thats alot of money and glad we didnt sign him.

I dont even care who it was, I stand up and applaud the Cardinals. Do you guys see this?!

The Arizona Cardinals offered a guy 15 mill guaranteed. And he was a Need! for goodness sake who are you and what have you done with Bill Bidwill? This has been the most mind blowing offseason in Cards history. Never once, and never had I ever though it a million years, would the Cards Not be cheap for once, and in fact, bust the bank Wide open. Amazing.

I dont care if they offered T.O. the key to the city, im just pleased as punch the Cards are making moves and spending cash. Good Job Cards!

If it was 15mil guaranteed why weren't there other teams in the running offering similar? Or we have to overpay people past their prime. To come here like the last decade. If we offered 15mil guaranteed while the 2nd offered 3.5mil is a big difference.

did the same thing with Joey Porter when he was signed. There was no market for him at all and the Cards gave him a pretty big contract. He has since taken a paycut but he could have been had for much less originally.

I'm guessing you two didn't read the article. Edwards is sueing because he had teams interested with a high offer of 15 mill guarenteed. Then the fight at the restaraunt happened and those high offers went away. Teams that were interested became concerned about Edwards off field behaviors and that he may end up with a suspension etc so those offers dried up.

I'm guessing I did:

"Edwards claims he had an offer from an NFL team with $15 million guaranteed, the suit says".

Mr. Edwards' offer was rescinded before it could be accepted because of the false, misleading, and/or negligent statements" that came out after his name was linked to the Aug. 1 fight at the restaurant.

I went to Ohio State, but I think those are singular forms .

However, the 2nd offer came after the news of the altercation at the bar. Hence the lawsuit.

Two apologies from me. First of all I picked the wrong quote and I'm to lazy to start this process over.

Secondly you did in fact read the article and taken literally are correct.

Where I disagree is with the perception that the Cards are the only team that had any interest and it's a forgone conclusion that we offered a ton more then anyone else. We also can't assume just because the article states one team offered 15 mil that it was the only team that offered a significant amount of money. Edwards lawyer isn't going to name every teams offers, just the highest and we don't know that was the Cards.

Well, we will find out which team made the offer, if this goes to court.
