LAS VEGAS (2007 FIBA Americas Championship) - After consecutive loses against USA and Puerto Rico, Brazil got back the shape they displayed in the first round, winning over Mexico 104-90.

Following 21 points from Leandro Barbosa, the Brazilians were always in front, keeping a consistent attack that pulverized the Mexican defenses.

Mexico, after becoming the only team to reach 100 points against the USA last night, couldn’t contain Barbosa’s penetrations and the incisive attack in the paint of Nene, who finished the game with 17 points and 7 rebounds.

Brasil outscored Mexico, 26-4, in fase-break points.

Romel Beck scored 29 points in losing effort.

Leandro had a solid game. There was much more balanced scoring than usual from the Brazilian team, but his 21 points still led the way.

8 of 13 overall
3 of 4 for three
2 of 2 from the line
5 assists
2 steals

All fo this was against a Mexico team that played USA better than anyone so far. Good game for Leandro (really like the assists).
