I thought the scene where they played a replay of the first episode of Breaking Bad in which Hank tells Walt "They make a lot of money...until they get caught! I'll take you on a drive by with me..." And then Walt shrugs it off but then Hank mocks him by saying "Oh come on Walt, live a little!"

Excellent scene.

Did anybody else think Walt was gonna cook up one last batch of dope and than do it himself??? I thought that's where the ending was going.

No, but I admired that they showed Walter admitting how much he loved doing that -- how much power it gave him. They didn't try to fully redeem him.

I missed that, but there were major differences in tone and context. If you watch the two scenes side-by-side, I think you'll see what I mean.

Yes, they were different, but both ended with central character dying on his back - with a bloody wound in the gut

Just an observation, dot

No worries. I did wonder, however, from a more...esoteric...point of view if the "reunion" themed stuff in the church from the Lost ending was running through Walt's head during the Breaking Bad ending. It kind of adds a different layer character development.

Personally, I still like my Archimedes idea.

Oliver Stone Rips The 'Breaking Bad' Finale

Oliver Stone Rips The 'Breaking Bad' Finale

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/10/09/oliver-stone-breaking-bad_n_4070765.html

“Nobody could park his car right then and there and could have a machine gun that could go off perfectly and kill all of the bad guys! It would be a joke,” Stone continued. "At least respect violence. I’m not saying don’t show violence, but show it with authenticity ... If people think that bringing a machine gun to your last meeting is a solution to a television series that’s very popular, I think they’re insane."

"Breaking Bad" co-executive producer Moira Walley-Beckett had this to say about Stone's comments:

Right? He doesn't even watch the show. He's just trying to find an "of the moment" tie-in to sell his new book. Super Douche. .

Ollie, it didn't kill off all the bad guys. Walt had to finish off uncle Jack.

Sheeeesh.

Someone might want to remind Oliver Stone that he directed "Natural Born Killers", which not only had a cartoonish portrayal of brutal violence, but came complete with a laugh track dubbed over scenes of child abuse and incestual rape.
