Dane Brugler is seen as one of the premier analysts who cover the NFL Draft. Whenever he writes a mock or scouting report, people stop and pay attention, because it means he is usually seeing or hearing something worth taking in. This week, he published his final mock draft and went seven rounds deep for every team in the league.
For the Bucs, Brugler went defense-heavy, as they look to solidify that side of the ball after the offense dominated in 2024.
The Bucs have six picks in the NFL Draft, one in every round except the sixth round. Despite missing the one, the team could gain some extra picks if they trade back. Brugler did not have trades in his mock draft, so they remained with the six picks they have here.
Here is our breakdown of their selections.
Campbell has been a popular pick for the Bucs in every mock draft for the past couple of weeks. It makes sense as it is a need for the Bucs both now and in the future. The team cannot hold onto Lavonte David forever as he eventually has to find his way to Canton, Ohio.
Nic Scourton had a less-than-productive year in 2024, but his 2023 film shows what he can be when the team takes the reins off him. Scourton can be a disruptor, and he fits into the type of defensive lineman the Bucs like to build their defense around.
Parrish would be a developmental cornerback alongside Zyon McCollum and Jamel Dean as they look to round out their secondary. The Kansas State product will be a good, physical cornerback who complements the secondary's skillset as is and fits in immediately.
Jonas Sanker is a fun safety prospect who could take some time to develop, but the physical traits are there for Todd Bowles to work with. His playing alongside the likes of Tykee Smith and Antoine Winfield Jr. doesn't hurt matters for him, either.
The Syrauce tight end with NFL bloodlines finds his way to the Bucs here and becomes a fun option for Baker Mayfield. Cade Otton should still have a place in the tight end rotation, but when the team needs more explosive playmaking from the position, they can call upon Gadsden II.
Last season, the Bucs used Sean Tucker and Bucky Irving on special teams a lot, that won't be the case in 2024. Horn Jr. would likely take over that role for the team in this scenario in a role that team needs to have a designated player for going forward.

Here is our breakdown of their selections.
Round 1, Pick 19: Jihaad Campbell, LB, Alabama
Campbell has been a popular pick for the Bucs in every mock draft for the past couple of weeks. It makes sense as it is a need for the Bucs both now and in the future. The team cannot hold onto Lavonte David forever as he eventually has to find his way to Canton, Ohio.
Round 2, Pick 53: Nic Scourton, Edge, Texas A&M
Nic Scourton had a less-than-productive year in 2024, but his 2023 film shows what he can be when the team takes the reins off him. Scourton can be a disruptor, and he fits into the type of defensive lineman the Bucs like to build their defense around.
Round 3, Pick 84: Jacob Parrish, CB, Kansas State
Parrish would be a developmental cornerback alongside Zyon McCollum and Jamel Dean as they look to round out their secondary. The Kansas State product will be a good, physical cornerback who complements the secondary's skillset as is and fits in immediately.
Round 4, Pick 121: Jonas Sanker, SAF, Virginia
Jonas Sanker is a fun safety prospect who could take some time to develop, but the physical traits are there for Todd Bowles to work with. His playing alongside the likes of Tykee Smith and Antoine Winfield Jr. doesn't hurt matters for him, either.
Round 5, Pick 157: Oronde Gadsden II, TE, Syracuse
The Syrauce tight end with NFL bloodlines finds his way to the Bucs here and becomes a fun option for Baker Mayfield. Cade Otton should still have a place in the tight end rotation, but when the team needs more explosive playmaking from the position, they can call upon Gadsden II.
Round 7, Pick 25: Jimmy Horn Jr., WR, Colorado
Last season, the Bucs used Sean Tucker and Bucky Irving on special teams a lot, that won't be the case in 2024. Horn Jr. would likely take over that role for the team in this scenario in a role that team needs to have a designated player for going forward.
