If this is true, then all or nothing is the absolute truth. The greatest Cardinal ever can't disappear without a ring.
I never heard any rumblings of this at all.

Well that opens up some more cap space next offseason. Should allow us to keep Floyd if we want. Fitz absolutely deserves a ring, here's to a magical season.

whoa... this makes me REALLY sad.

okay... if this team didn't have enough motivation as is, they just got even more.

wow. real shocked here though. he's got a lot of good years left in the tank.

Not very shocking. Everybody knew Fitz was gonna hang up his cleats this year or next. I do hope he's able to retire a SB champion though.

Fitz Sr. is roasting Ian Rapport on twitter saying Larry hasn't said anything like that. Ian Rapport is just another no-personality media knob trying to draw hits.

Seems this is like a "hey did you hear he said, he said , he said, he heard" type of rumor. Fitz is the least type of person or player to make this all about him or farwell tour.

Do we know if the Fitz contract extension did anything for the team cap wise this year (or next)?

Seems odd that he would agree to an extension he had no plans to fulfill.

if true, this just gives more leverage to Floyd. Got a hazy Smokey and possibly no Larry on the horizon?

let's just win this whole damn thing next year and then I can bask (no pun intended) in the afterglow of Super bowl victory for a couple years if we have to rebuild the O.

Fitz isn't stupid. He doesn't make decisions hastily. He will see how the season goes and will make a decision when the time seems right.

Agreed. Maybe he will retire. But Fitz doesn't operate the way guys like Kobe and Jeter operate. I know that's hard for most of the idiots that make up the sports news consumer base to understand, but its true.

This came from Ian Rapoport, a former Patriots beat writer. Nothing more than a distraction to try to give his Patriots a bit of an edge tonight.

Leave it to the NFL network...3/4 of what they say or write now is just rumors and conjection. They are nothing more than gossip...

Suggest we wait for something official from Fitz.

We don't know the question (if there was question). We don't know what Fitz actually said. We don't know the context of the Q or A.

said the contract extension was to keep people from asking each week about retirement, but has no plans as of now for this to be his last season.

Guess the story of Fitz being traded to the Vikings or the Patriots ran out of steam and they needed a new unconfirmed, anonymous, single source article.
