I really liked him out of college and I'll be disappointed if he's a but. But he needs to step up this year.

He's gotta get more than 5 plays a game to even begin bringing up his name. With that said I don't think that he will get that PT without injuries to Fells & Gresham. He's likely gone after this season if not before.

Michael Floyd. He has battled injuries and inconsistent play so far, but I think he can put it all together this year and put some serious pressure on Kiem to pay him.

he has broken out already IMO, solid #2 and probably a #1 elsewhere

Depends on your definition of breaking out. My take is a player that has a spike in production from what he has done in the past. Reaching a new level. Going from a nice player to a Pro Bowler. I don't limit this to players that haven't already had success. If Floyd gets close to 1400 yards I would consider that a breakout year

Just heard Arians interview on the radio today where he was praising Brandon Williams as standing out in OTAs so far. Said he has three picks. Says he excels at "Dude coverage. You know, 'You've got that dude.'" Concluded by saying they took him in the 3rd round because they thought he was a potential starter.

Also, he said it is not set in stone that Bethel will start and not being on the field does not help his cause.

Humphries on offense, Nkemdiche on defense. I think Nkemdiche could be DROY.

I would be very happy if a rookie beat out Bethel at CB and Bethel was primarily STs and ~5 snaps on defense average.

I'm gonna say this cat since I was touting him for Big Red in 3rd or 4th round!!! I look for him to be a huge contributor & possibly starting by week 8...the kid is a playmaker:D

I watched a lot of Aggie football the last 2 years & "The dude" allows lots of double moves & gets beat deep despite his skills...either a trait of limited games at CB or guessing. I'm not sold on that pick for those reasons

Second player I saw playing in college(before I ever heard of him) and hoped that the Cards drafted him. First was Freddie Joe Nunn back in 1984.

I think you are correct on JJ Nelson. He has the wheels & the hands.

Since Chandler Jones went to the Pro Bowl this year I don't know if he can be listed here. I think he could emerge as an elite edge rusher who averages one sack per game. With the offense having another year in the system it's really a consistent pass rush that keeps us from going to the big dance. If Jones provides that, he is my breakout player.

Well, one of those years you were watching him play RB. But, yeah, I am an Aggie and confirm he did get beat a lot last year. Yes, he has the physical talent but he was slow to anticipate routes (not surprising with his inexperience) and was slow to make a play on the ball even when in position. I said the same things in his draft thread.

Just passing on what I heard yesterday. I know I was surprised post draft when they mentioned how much Chavous glowed about Williams. supposedly calling him the most talented CB he's coached, and he coached Peterson and Mathieu! I found that a little surreal considering his results on the field last year.

Saw that too, wondered if it was just him chiding Bethel for not being on the field. Why isnt Bethel on the field anyway?

He's recovering from foot surgery, he played hurt last year so he is expecting to improve this year. He was usually close to the WR it was his lack of ball awareness that he needs to improve upon IMO.

Results aren't indicative of talent. Results are indicative of knowing your craft.

Talent is important, but it only takes a player so far.

I think our defensive line as a whole will have a break out season as well. With the addition of Jones & Nkemdiche teams won't be able to double team Campbell.

Everyone on D should improve from adding Jones Nkemdiche, maybe even Peters if he can still play after two missed seasons. LBs and DBs should benefit. If the D can step up which I think it will. This team can be a serious SB threat.

I'd be stunned if Williams starts unless the Cards are hit with massive injuries. That doesn't means Williams is a bust; he's just got a long way to go to learn the position.

Even though I posted I doubt a TE has a break out year Palmer said that Fells had the best offseason on anyone on the Offense and that he dropped 20 lbs and was making plays all over the place.

Still not buying it being a TE who breaks out simply because of how BA uses them and all the weapons we have at WR & RB.

I hadn't heard that interesting.
