I know some have said they would like to see Arrington get the ball more in open space but other than Boldin when healthy, Breaston seems to be the player that could make the most happen after a catch in open space.

I'd be interested to see him more in the WR slot, but returning kicks is a different art form, which Steve excels at. I really like Breaston this year, great draft pick.

Well, we'll get some good looks at Stevie B if both Q and Fitz are on the shelf next week.

I hope Whis calls some plays to get Steve in open space with the ball...

arrington looks like the slowest speed back I've ever seen. Seriously, he catches the ball in space, and I NEVER see that acceleration speed like I do a Westbrook, Parker, Peterson, etc., etc.

He will get chances next year, as Johnson is most likely gone when FA starts.

Red Dawn and I were talking about this during the game. BJ is going to get P-A-I-D.

If it were as simple as taking a good kick returner and getting them the ball in space during an offensive series, Devon Hester would be the most dangerous WR in the game. It just doesn’t work that way most of the time. Are there exceptions? I’m sure there are (though I can’t think of any at the moment), but for the most part good return men do not make great offensive players.

I've said this on countless occasions! Everyone keeps referring to his "speed"??

It was either last year or the year before where Arrington broke free on the sideline and had a good 10 yard lead on the nearest defender who had a very slight angle on him. The defenser caught him form behind. Someone who is supposed to have spped like Arrington should never be caught with a 10 yard head start and already in full stride.

people said the same thing about BJ also. Just shows how relatively slow most of our skill position players are that BJ and Arrington are the speed guys.

Well unless Im mistake Johnson ran like a 4.2 or 4.3 forty didnt he? However we all know that dont mean squat once you put the pads on. Much Like Jerry Rices 4.6 forty. I never saw anyone catch him when he had a 10 yard head start.

not that I ever heard of.

exactly. we don't have one burner, with timed or game speed on the entire offense. Even Breaston isn't lightning fast, but he's got great vision, which makes him as dangerous as he is.

I could be off by another 10th Im cetain it was at least 4.4 which is still considered fast. But your right our guys just seem to get caught. If they dotn get caught they just run out of bounds for no good reason.

Shane, you know as well as I do, as weird as it sounds and looks, there's a huge difference between 4.2/3 and 4.4.

Oh i agree 100% but I know by the combine that they seem to be pretty impressed with anything in the 4.4 range for the most part.

Agree... And this seriously hurts us at both the WR and RB positions... We have nobody at RB who can take a handoff and take it to the house...
And we certainly don't have a WR who can threaten a defense with the deep, break-away speed...
